Alternative Berlin Tours

In our short trip to Berlin we did an amazing tour! It was not the standard historical and cultural stuff you can visit on your own as well. We did the alternative tour. It was a 3 hour walk through the city with a group of young people. With Matti, our local guide who spoke English very well, we discovered a different Berlin. He took us to different neighbourhoods we’re we saw amazing street art, graffiti paintings and meanwhile he told us about the urban city, the students and alternatives living there. He gave us very good tips of drinking/eating places and where we could spend a crazy night. The tour was for free, you could give a tip at the end. And if you can catch Matti, he’s the best!

Yesterday I did the free tour! Our tourguide Math picked us up from our hostel (plus hostel). From there he showed us a really interesting and nice tour! He was really passionated about Berlin and brought us to place that I will never have seen when I tried to discover Berlin by my self.

We saw amazing (street) art, buildings and neighborhoods. Additionally with an abundance of provided information, you realize that the building/art you already saw and/or passed by, how interesting its origin and history is. That’s what makes it so much more worth visiting.
We learned a lot about (alternative) Berlin and its history. Thank you!

Highly recommended!
Great tour, even for Germans and people who (think they) already know Berlin very well. You get to see lots of stuff you would most likely miss on the beaten tourist paths.
I recommend taking one of their tours early on, that way you will recognize a lot of the street art etc. in different places later.

I can only recommend the alternative Berlin tour because it gets you where no travel guide book can get you. You learn a lot about the local street artists and you get to talk to people who live in Berlin (tour guides). They will also recommend you places to go to like museums, clubs and cafés.
It thought it’s a great idea to make those alternative tours to get you away from the touristy stuff…

i did the walking tour during the day and the anti pub crawl at night, hahah ended up at this mental party in a basement that we went in a lift to get to, would have never found it myself.. brilliant..

This was my 3rd time in Berlin. I though I saw almost everything. Well, I was wrong. With this tour I was able to see a totally different side of the city! The coolest parts.
Our tour guide was really good, well prepared. It is true, like a friend who shows you the hidden places, where you would normally walk by.
I really recommend this tour if you are bored of the well known, popular tourist places.

An absolute blast! A feel of the part of Berlin you won't find in London or anywhere else. It's easy to see the most obvious sites or find the trendiest clubs by yourself. But the corners that the Alternative tours and the Anti Pub Crawl showed us were priceless! It's like the guides in the Alternative Berlin Tours are a substitute for that cool friend that knows all the secrets to his hometown and is willing to take you out for a spin. That in comparison to those friends that work too much, have no time and just give you a map with the most obvious attractions in it. :) I highly recommend checking these guys out!
