This is the shortest street in the whole of england. interesting place! worth seeing!
its also a street where in medieval times, you took your wife down, to legally flog her, if she got out of order!
though its not the done thing now!
or ever? old wives tale
its just a corner on a cross road, blink and you’ll miss it
stonebow, coliergate, the pavement and fossgate

will leave review as it is, bless and dam old wives! what about womens rights lol
While indeed one of the shortest streets in york (if not the whole of england lol) theres a lot of history behind whip ma whoop ma gate. Including being the location of the city pillory (Device used for public humiliation / torture). It was also a location used for lords and governers for public speaking so with that said it indeed holds a lot of history and might be worth a visit if your in the area.
