University College Hospital

I must say I was rather impressed by this hospital a far departure from the usual sad NHS hospitals I have been familiar with. You can check in as though going for a flight in the reception and then before you know it you are sitting in a waiting room which is immaculately clean with staff that are helpful and caring. Downside? Only the long waiting time for A and E (3 hours) but at least the staff were nice :)

Like what I imagine an American hospital to be like. Giant, sparkling clean, no overcrowding, super helpful and professional doctors and nurses. Definitely the place to head if you’re feeling poorly. And all for free. Long live the NHS.

I’ll second the previous reviewer in saying that University College Hospital (UCH) is a very efficient hospital. I’ve been there twice, once for an x-ray and another time for a blood test, and both times I got out within the hour. This is despite the huge queues that the blood tests have (which is compensated by a large number of nurses).

The reception staff were very attentive and courteous when dealing with my x-ray report as I needed it urgently for a requested medical report. I got a CD and the report itself, which is certainly a plus.

It’s probably worth it to just take a look at the place if you’re in the area. The place itself is quite impressive, both in terms of size and the modern decor.
