During the past week and the hot weather, the bridge has disappointed me greatly. On thursday evening the restaurant opened at six pm and closed at eight pm. People came and requested food and left just as quickly. To add insult to injury the waiting time for a glass of vino was 20 mins.
It would appear the main people who matter are the people who buy food, not the regular customers who merely wish to have a quiet pint or two. The generals army is failing.
Update. have been back since i published last review, the service was back to its usual brilliant best, 30 seconds to get a pint of refreshing Aspall cider.
Will be going their this evening, so We will see how the service is as it will be hot and sunny, so it will be busy. Keep up the good work general Imgoen.
Eaten here quite a few time’s and the food has always been spot on as has the service. And the beer garden over looking the river is a loverly place to have a cold drink on a hot summers day.

Yeah…have to agree with fellow Qypers experiences here. Always good grub and what a view out back over the river. On a Summers’ evening…can be very balmy. Food hot, drinks cold and happy, friendly staff………….what more can you ask!! Park up at the back of John Street if you can’t get in at The Bridge………

Stayed for few nights but room was not up to scratch. It looked klike only half of the room had been vacuumed and the other half clearly hadn't been vacuumed for a while. And although the linen/towels were clean and fresh, the tea tray was very stained so water glass couldn't be used as it had a foamy sort of residue on it. The bed headboard was grimy & the hallway carpets had seen better days too. On the plus side, the people are very friendly and food very good but the quality of the rooms was a big let down & they badly need a refurbishment in that area. So sorry to say but I won't stay there again which is a shame as the place is so centrally located.

Beautifully situated on the edge of the tidal river, this pub and B&B is the best place in the area to drink, eat and stay overnight.
From our arrival on a beautiful sunny day, we knew it was going to be a glorious stay as we found a table beside the water which remained cool in the midday sun.
A jug of Pimms and a few pints were had before one of the best lunchs I’ve ever had the pleasure of consuming were brought to us. Our enjoyment of the day was only heightened by the quality of the food served.
The landlady was friendly and helpful from greeting us on our arrival, serving us our last drink and greeting us with coffee and orange juice before a full english breakfast in the morning.
Although the rooms are not en suite, the facilities are spotless and the room a joy. With my sea view the entire experience wasperfect from start to finish.
Whether you go for a pint, a meal or overnight, I strongly recommend you drive off the round-about in Shoreham and in to the car park and just treat yourself!

go here on a summers night, for a lovely view of the river (either coming in or going out!). Food is pretty good too, especially on a sunday. The garden is more a series of patios on different levels, but with the river on the doorstop, what more do you need?

This review is very hard to believe. Imogen, the current landlady, has turned an admittedly unattractive building into one of Shoreham’s best pubs, taking full advantage of the beautifully situated garden. In dozens of visits, the service has always been superb, the beers and food excellent.
