Rustico

Just a few minutes walk from the noisy and crowded part of Rotschild blvd (mainly, where Rotschild meets Alenby / Nachalt Binyamin) you'll find what is perhaps one of the best Italian restaraunts in Israel.

Rustico's amazing not because of how good the food is (even though it's really really good). It's mostly because the people running the place and working in it strive to give you the most authentic, personal experience.

Every dish is prepared with great care, and most of the cooking is done out in the open, in front of the bar. Just sitting there as dish after dish is prepared before you is an unforgettable experience.

I've been there many times, with many different friends, almost always sat on the bar. The staff is always friendly, always happy to chat and make a suggestion.

The menu changes with time but I don't remember anything I ate there that I didn't love.

The business lunch time (from Sunday to Thursday) is quite affordable. Any other time - this isn't the cheapest place to go to. Still, you pay not only for the delicious food but also for the experience. And it's not even remotely close to how much you will pay in a "fancier" but less authentic restaurant.

It's also a great place for a date (with someone you're beginning to care about) and they have a nice selection of wines as well.

Last, when going in the evening, and especially during weekends/holidays call them to reserve. (And did I mention you should sit on the bar already?)
