Compliment
TQ2boyz (05-07-2008)
This converted convent - once the repository for “girls in distress” - is now cluttered to the rafters with bric-a-brac and the occasional collectable and antique, but that isn’t why I am writing about it.
Tina, the proprietor is a buxom londoner/essex girl who moved down over 12 years ago and runs a lovely tea shop/”restaurant” in half of the ground floor serving good home baked and traditional cakes, biscuits and puddings and on sundays,if you are lucky enough to be able to get a table the best mumsey roast lunch you could ask for with 3 courses for under £10.00.
Now I grew up on a farm and have an incredible appetite, but I have never left the table feeling hungry, and since she is now able to serve your own wines it is as good as you could possibly ask for.
A home made soup or cold starter;roast beef, chicken or pork with 2 types of potato and at least 3 vegetables and then to finish an array of puddings cooked that day.
A well known delight for the locals of Bovey,Newton and Chudleigh so I would recommend that you book to get a seat here.
