The also sell wine and have a little restaurant next to the cheese shop so it would not be a problem to organise that!

This is the place to go if you want an excellent selection of French, Italian and Swiss cheese. The staff are knowledgeable, the cheese is impeccably kept and the staff is happy to let you taste any cheese before buying.
Recently bought a nice slab of Swiss Schlossberg – the quality of the cheese is amazing and I am so happy to have found a place that sells something other than cheddar and stilton.

Bless Google yet again for leading us to Androuet. My friend, an inveterate cheese-hound – had been extolling the virtues of the original Audrouet in Paris – where she had eaten thirty years before and had a book of cheeses published by them. But although we discovered that the Paris shop no longer includes a restaurant, we also found that Androuet had opened in Spitalfields Market and within days we had booked and visited.
It was superb! Others such as cathbyron have commented knowledgeably about the shop and I won’t add anything to their praise except to agree, but next door in the tiny restaurant we had the most lovely meal. The duck’s egg, cheese, rosti and mushroom dish was absolutely delicious, while the burger, topped with a gorgeous blue cheese, was faultless and extremely tasty. We also had glasses of a such a fine organic sparking rose Pinot Grigio that we decided to buy a case for Christmas. Although the coffee machine wasn’t working and the service time is quite long as everything is cooked from scratch, we were well looked after by the French staff. Next time, we’d place our order and then browse the cheese shop while it was prepared.

I absolutely love this place. I went there for an impromptu meal on a day a few months back and have since recommended it to all my friends. So much so that I think I went back every other weekend for more of the cheeseboard awesomeness. It got a little embarrassing after a while as I think they recognised my love of cheese…. however I plan to go back very soon!
The waiters are exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable about their products and which wines would be delicious with each cheese and why. They also have amazing desserts (in particular the chocolate brownie and chocolate fondue).
Definitely my favourite restaurant in spitalfields!

I am a French who visited a friend in London. He wanted to show me this shop and restaurant... My first thought was "as if I needed to go to London to eat cheeses" !
However I WAS AMAZED by the quality of the CHEESES, as much as the quality of the FOOD and the SERVICE.
I really had a great flavorful dinner, with a very interesting cheese board and an incredible Sauvignon Blanc! The experience was … perfect!
Good relaxing time in a nice athmosphere with an old friend supported by the best products.

The place to go if you're suffering from cheese withdrawals. I've not bought anything from here myself as I always seem to pop in after a night of overindulgence, but my cheese-loving French friend (is there any other kind?) swears by this place. Apparently, Androuet stocks a rare French cheese which is only in season during early summer.

Brilliant cheese shop and attached cafe run by two French brothers mad about cheese. The maitre fromagier knows all about the grazing seasons of every cheese he sources. He only stocks cheeses, especially the softer ones, when they are at their seasonal best.So the stock is smallish, varying, and always outstanding in quality. The labels have little identifying pics that tell you straightaway whether it is sheep, goat or cow's milk cheese. And the fromagier, naturellement, gives you a tasting sliver of any cheese that catches your interest. To be honest, I haven't even checked out the tiny ajoining cafe. I just buy lots of cheeses, and take them home to our Whitechapel flat like a proud hunter-gatherer, and we savour each one, remembering the glories of real fromageries in la belle France itself.
