Big Girls Blouse

I love this place soooooo much! I came in months ago on the hunt for a waist cincher as I'd never tried one before. Julie helped me pick one, and as mortified as I was that I couldn't figure out how to do it, helped me squeeze myself into it!
This is my go to for anything special and unusual, whether it's for presents or something for myself.
On my last visit I only went in for a nose and came out with a retro telephone which has pride of place in my little flat :)
I shall be going back soon for Julie to advise me on my next lingerie purchase and a good natter. She's a babe.

Lovely independant vintage shop in Cathays, unique clothing and jewellery you will find nowhere else. Prices are good and you will pick up a bargain, all kinds of things to suit everyone! Stunning dresses and burlesque outfits, so much to choose from. Could spend hours in there, love this place! Far better than anywhere in the City centre!

This is my fav retro shop. I love the fact that I can come in and not just be able to try and buy beautiful clothes but Julie always get the kettle on for a cuppa and a natter xD.

I used to go to the last shop, loved the pretty dresses and burlesque wear there. The new shop is even better! I can’t say enough about the good service. Julie goes out of her way to help you there, and there is tea!

I love the fact that she has vintage wear for a curvy girl too. Plus I can get my What katie Did stockings there too. Huge bonus!

You have to check it out for a slice of retro magic.

One of my favourite local shops…we always pop in when we are in Crwys Road, such a friendly welcome…lots of stuff to look through, in fact, you need at least an hour lol.

Lots of intresting items that you cant find anywhere else, independent, friendly…and a success.

Great little shop for all your Rockin’ n Retro needs, from clothes to accessories, even the odd bit of furniture… there’s something for every one in this shop, friendly welcoming staff, you may even get a cupa, call in for a chat and browse….

I took my female friend to this shop, and they stock many items and also will order you items if they don’t stock them, great value for money, extra great service, the lady who runs the shop even made a cup of tea, now thats what i call service, very friendly and not haressed like most shops,

We were left to browse at our content, and helpfull advice was given when we asked, great shop, great staff and we both highly recommend.

Fab shop on Crwys Road owned by colourful owner Julie Cooper. A haven of gorgeous vintage and burlesque clothing ranging from to die for jewellery to frilly knickers, sexy gloves and beautiful retro dresses.

Julie is a chatty knowledgeable lady who is happy to pass on any titbits of info if you’re looking for the latest burlesque class etc. Clearly loves what she does and there’s a real feeling of a family atmosphere in this shop.

Don’t go in unless you have money to spend as leaving empty handed will make you feel sad! So many things I could have bought in there and looking forward to my next visit. Cheers Julie!

This is a “must visit before you die” kind of shop! Great new & pre-loved clothes & accessories, quirky decor and knowledgable staff that make you feel welcome.

I discovered Big Girls Blouse through a project that I was doing in my final year at Cardiff Uni. I approached Julie first through email and was over the moon when I received a very warm, welcoming and friendly reply saying that she would be more than happy to help! We collaborated and worked together from then on and she made our relationship really fun. I only live across the road and every time I walk by, a cup of tea, cake or a friendly chat and smile are always on offer. Julie has a great sense of humor and is a very down to earth character and I’m sure that all those who know her would agree. Her shop reflects her charismatic personality and her true love for the 50’s. It has been a real pleasure getting to know Julie and Big Girls Blouse is not only a shop, but a life long passion and journey for Julie too. I got a first in my project thanks to Julie and Big Girls Blouse and I would really recommend taking a visit to her shop, for it may start a journey back to the 50’s for you too!

What more could a girl ask for! Dresses for all shapes and sizes and much much more. Julie is always on hand to help. Great to be able to always go in and find lots that I want. I love the xxl range! Also love the new location on Crwys Road!

Definitely in my top 10 of Vintage shops in the UK. A superb collection of quality vintage and reproduction clothes and accessories and not overpriced either. Julie and her husband are a lovely couple and very welcoming, I Could happily spend a lot of money there.

Big Girls Blouse is a fabulous retro 1940s/50s clothing shop tucked away in Wellfield Court Arcade which is just off Wellfield Road Roath Cardiff. Julie Cooper who owns the place is a gem! Nothing is too much trouble for her and you really feel like you've been pampered whenever you visit. Julie is more than happy for you try on any of the clothes, shoes, hair acccessories, etc etc., that she has in stock. Sizes range from XS to XXL and the variety is fab. Julie is soon to release an XXL range for bigger girls and she is busy sourcing fabrics from around the world to ensure her larger customers have a greater choice of 40/50's clothing and lingerie. Big Girls Blouse also have some wonderful nic-nacs, sunglasses and furniture! Pop in and take a look around - you will not be disappointed!

Here is one of my favourite shops in Cardiff!! Huge ranges of beautiful garments and accessories and in a lovely location, this shop has heaps of character. Service is friendly and informative every time.

Wonderful shop, staffed by the friendliest guys ever! The quality and choice of goods on offer are second to none with sizes to suit even the most 'voluptuous' of ladies. Something for everyone here!!

Big Girls Blouse is an absolute treat! Its an real experience not just a shop. So much to look at, Vintage, retro, Kitsch, clothing, jewellery, a great selection of long and short gloves....so many delights its hard not to find something you want!

A great place to go if you are a Burlesque artiste also, as they stock what katie did suspenders and girdles. Also a great selection of corsets and many colours of long gloves.

My personal favourite are the Wiggle dresses that you cant get anywhere else in the city. Hopefully they'll get more and more varieties and sizes as they get more popular.

The owners are so friendly and Julie will really go out of her way to help you in any way she can. She also makes her own gorgeous feather headdresses which she can make to match any outfit. She's a true pioneer and this is what all vintage shops should be like!

They've recently acquired a vintage television, and have rockabilly bands footage playing, which really adds another dimension to the experience of the shop.

If only the store was in town so more people could discover its uniqeness. Then again, its slightly out of town location means its the only one of its kind in the vicinity! A true Gem.

Any vintage lovers should definitely make the trip to find it, easy bus route from town, and easy to find once your on Albany Road.
