The Valencia is a very upmarket hotel in San Jose. It’s situated in Santana Row (the supposedly European styled), upmarket shopping street. The upmarket feel of Santana Row is perfectly matched by the Hotel Valencia - plush carpet, big rooms, open air courtyard and bar, all the things you would expect from a luxury hotel.

The rooms are nice and large (ask for ones that open onto the street), with cabled internet access. While there is internet access, the rooms aren’t well set up for prolonged desk work (you will get RSI or a sore neck).

The concierge can park and retrieve your car, or you can park it in the local carpark yourself (2 minutes walk) for free.

The best thing about it, is that it is on a nice shopping street. And if you get bored with the upmarket feel, you are 5 minutes walk from one of the biggest shopping malls in San Jose (Westfield). It’s nice not to have to drive to another place.

I’d happily stay here again, especially if work is paying. Not many better options in San Jose.
