Review of Kokeb Ethiopian Cuisine from 23 January 2013

I'm from Sydney where there's not an Ethiopian restaurant in sight, so was happy to find a few in London! The location of the place is not the greatest (ground floor of a council block), but it was easy enough to get to using Google Maps.

Dining alone, I opted for the mixed vegetarian dish as it allowed me to sample a few different things, for about £6 - it was delicious., especially after eating so much terrible processed supermarket rubbish, the home-cooked vegetables almost felt like a "detox", but with flavour.

The staff were very friendly and will always make recommendations if you're stuck with what to order. I'll be back to try the beef tartare!

Once I understood there's African cuisine in the area, I found myself interested in it. Went there with a friend only to try the food. And it was tasty although it's different than everything else I tried. Nice place and friendly staff. Prices are fine as well.

Had a really tasty lunch here today. Great hospitality, very homely. So not like your average eaterie these days. Really transports you to Ethiopia (or so id imagine) In an unusual spot. Well worth a visit and food top notch. fish stew fantastic, best ive had!
