My friend recommended me this place, and I visit it and had a great time. Food is really delicious and the service is friendly. As soon I get back I'll visit it again;-)
The food was good but the service was kind of slow due to it being very busy. I also have to say that people were actually waiting to be seated (have to give credit to the reputation of this restraunt).
The location is really nice, on a very cute old traditional street. The design of the restaurant is very typical and pleasent. The food is REALLY very tasty, there is a large selection of food, both sweet and savoury crepes, so enough variety for everyone.
If you are very hungry there might not be enough but just eat two! Reasonable price for fresh northern french food in northern germany!
I went there just once for a friend's birthday who is actually from that area of France.
We had a sort of deal, where we get 2 crepes (one salty, one sweet) and Apple Cider. The price was then affordable, but i am not sure if it is the case without the offer
Anyway the crepes (both sweet and salty) are delicious!
They are rather big and the filling is generous!
I loved the apple cider!
But i didn't like the service. The waiters - french of course - were rude, uninterested, speaking to the guests in french (!).
And they couldn't manage to serve us the crepes all at the same time.
So yes i like crepes, but i can do them by myself for a lot cheaper and without having the waitress grouch every time we ask for something!
This feels like a really typical Bretagne creperie - here in the heart of Hamburg.
Well located on historic Deichstrasse, with summer eating possible outdoors on the water, the internal decor is light, breezy, and open and is currently festooned with colourful artworks.
Most importantly, they serve a huge choice excellent galettes and crepes, together with various sizes and styles of cider. Great lunchtime spot if you have more than a few minuets to spare.
Went for lunch on a sunny Spring Sunday lunch & was really impressed. The wall if windows streams in natural light with a view of the canal. Quite an extensive menu - so many choices of savory galettes - had the ham, fried egg, spinach and onion jelly - it was wonderful. The service was just a bit slow - but perfect for a Sunday.
Just a short walk from the Speicherstadt on a snowy January evening, we passed a couple of cosy hours in this delightful galetterie sipping hard cider and enjoying some tasty Bretonish cooking - both galettes and dessert crepes. The food was delicious, though the service was a tad bit slow, but it was no problem in the end. The atmosphere is rather charming with a sea-faring theme both in the restaurant and in the wares for sale in the attached shop. A nice little find, just a bit of the beaten path.
Since 1998 …
… Breton crêperie of Hamburg and maritime mode boutique.
Brittany, Armor, land of the sea, is inviting for dreaming and spending some quality time. Brittany’s nature, its people and their culture are particularly, harmonically bonded. Ti Breizh, which means «House of Brittany» reflects this Breton life style.
Ti Breizh would like to provide a very special service to their guests:
With our unique combination of original Breton crêperie, maritime mode boutique, various exhibitions and a lot of information about Brittany, Ti Breizh offers the possibility to learn and find out about Brittany’s multifaceted aspects.
Always worth a visit, find Ti Breizh in the historical Deichstrasse on the edge of the Nicolaifleet (loading canal). After an extensive Hamburg harbour tour or a visit of the exciting harbour city (Speicherstadt), you are welcome to have a dinner in the relaxed atmosphere of our Breton ambiance. Our old office house (Altes Kontorhaus) from 1700 is situated on the edge of the Nicolaifleet, thus also imparts Hamburg’s old maritime history.
During summer we open our inviting sun terrace on the water.
Degemer mad ha Ti Breizh !
I really enjoy my lunches here. Ti Breizh is a traditional Bretonian eatery, complete with striped shirts and maritime decor, which serves nothing much else other than Galettes and Crepes. The menu is very diverse, ranging from light Galettes (with cheese and egg) to the heavier ones (various sausage-type toppings), and for dessert there's a scroll-long list of every type of crepe combination imaginable. Brown sugar, maple syrup, chocolate, ice cream, whipped cream, apple sauce - if you can think it, Ti Breizh make it.
Granted, this is probably not the best place to go with a large party, as the kitchen is only capable of making 4 galettes/crepes at a time and it will take the food a little longer to arrive to a big table, and the prices aren't the cheapest in the area. You can, however, get an affordable lunch menu if you arrive at lunchtime and the combinations on the lunch menu are normally diverse enough to include something for everyone - including a cider or a cup of coffee.
Very recommended!
I have mixed feelings about this place. On one hand, I really like it, because I love crepes, and everything French. On the other hand, it worries me, as the first time I came in here I ended up 6 hours from death in hospital soon afterwards. OK - having my appendix out may have not been related, but still...
So I decided to brave another trip back here yesterday and really enjoyed it. It's slight over-popular, meaning lunch will take an hour, but the apple and cinnamon dessert crepe was just divine.
The set menu of a savoury gallette plus a dessert crepe and cider or coffee will set you back around 8 euros.
The food tastes great, and the price is good. Don't go in too hungry though. I wasn't really that filled when I walked out of there.
This was the first time I've ever tried a galette and I enjoyed it a lot. You can get a "galette of the day" with an espresso for 5,50€ or a galette, crepe and an espresso for 8,20€. There is big selection of crepes.
The place looks nice and the staff is friendly, the only thing that bothered me, was that it was a little cold inside. But maybe it's just me.
The Haus de Bretagne is certainly interesting. The crepes and galettes (savory crepes) are certainly good, but a bit over-priced (for me a crepe should be half the price of a pizza, not more expensive).
When we went, we had a party of 11 for lunch, and they really struggled to get the food to us at the same time. When the last person got their galette, the first few were well finished.
However I shouldn't be too harsh on the place, it is nice and the food is great.
dmj1962 What an interesting name-board. French, Breton and German - 3 different language groups!
