Ice Skating is both expensive and dangerous. The actual Rink is a great place to visit, and the time you spend on the ice is great. However, the hire fee for the blades are quite extortionate, and the blades are very sharp, and it’s possible to cut yourself on them. It is situated in Cardiff bay, so that’s a big plus.
The new ice rink is great, Very similar to the old one and many others around the country. Being new its clean and tidy, with no knackered out furniture and out of date decor. Thers is a coffee shop thing area where you can chill out and warm up after to long lieing on the ice! The staff were all fairly young and realy friendly, ehlping out with chooseing boot size. There is as there was in the old place a shop selling ice skating gear, and cardiff devils stuff. The prices are realy good, and even cheaper if you have your own skates. the only thing that let it down last time i went was that it wasnt finnised on the outside, with the blue tarpauline and woden slates. Just a little tatty, but it may of been finnised by now. Either way, a great afternoon to be had here! Its new location is in the bay area of cardiff, with lots of other cool stuff around to finnised off your afternoon, lots of good eating places, and other things like techniquest, ikea etc just minutes away! Also the new olympic swimming pool wich has a fun side with loads of slides and stuff right next door! so realy good location
Great value for money and a great day out for all the family. Does get very busy though so arrive well before the session time to ensure you get in. Lockers are provided to store bags and coats in. Nice cafe which provides reasonably priced drinks and snacks.
Cardiff international ice rink is a fab place for a family day out. The staff are friendly & the price are good. There is also a little cafe selling hot dogs, tea, coffees & cold drinks.
Exceptional value and lots of fun equal a good day out for the kids. There’s even an ice disco on Fridays which will keep the kids entertained for hours.
Can be a bit tricky to get to if you’re unsure of the way (look out for signs for the sports village-it’s next to the swimming pool) or alternatively the number 9 bus goes to the Sports village from Roath and the City Centre.
I went to the ice rink with my sister & cousin & had a fab time. The ice rink is so much fun! Its a fab place for families & children & people of all ages.
They also have a little cafe serving teas, coffees, hot dogs etc, the tea is especially welcoming after ice skating!!
Its a great affordable place for a fun day out.

There is a nice cafe where you can buy hot and cold snacks and drinks
