Die Baderin, Coers Britta

Pure dumb luck and google helped me to find this place in 2005 and I have been forever grateful since then. Back then I had just arrived back in Berlin and was on the lookout for a place to get my eyebrows plucked. I just entered 'Augenbrauen zupfen' into google and found this place. As I say, just dumb luck. But oh, what luck!

On that first visit in 2005 I just walked into the place wanting to make an appointment to have my eyebrows plucked. And while I was at it, I thought, why not have my hair but too. Back in those days, my hair was short and I thought little of it. Most hairdressers I came across just sat me down, chopped away and charged me extortionate amounts of money for same. So I was understandably stunned when Britta Coers told me I would have to clear 2 hours in my calendar for the whole proceedure. Who is this woman, I thought? And why could she possibly need 2 hours to deal with my insignificant hair? I found out at the consultation, where she sat me down, discussed what kind woman I was, and what kind of form I was looking for. And to my surprise and joy I actually left the salon that day with a haircut I could feel proud of.

I've stuck with Britta and the team at "Die Baderin" ever since. The ravages of age (those gray hairs that just won't go away) mean that I now get a healthy dose of natural plant hair colour along with my cut. And in a move that would shock anyone who knew me in my early 20s, I have slowly developed into a long haired woman, with hair darting down below the shoulder and along the back on occasions. And the fantastic thing is that each time I leave "Die Baderin" I have a haircut that suits me and the woman I am becoming.

I can only reccomend "Die Baderin". I have had nothing but fantastic experiences there. As an organic hairdressers it is also something quite unique - you don't find many places like this in Europe, let alone in Berlin. And there are so many other cosmetic services that I have sadly neither had the time nor money to avail of ..... someday I'm sure I will. But whether you are just in Berlin for a short while, or if you are a confirmed Berliner just looking for a change , this place is well worth checking out!
