So good you almost don't want to swallow - spotlessly clean, good attentive but not in your face service, excellent food
This is now our new favourite Brighton restaurant, we can't recommend it highly enough & at such a reasonable price too :)
This is one of the best restaurants in Brighton, great quality and the food is amazing. The slow cooked beef just falls off the bone an dthe fish specials are so fresh. I would recommend this again and again, to anyone.

Authentic Indonesian food! Being not only a foodie but also born into an Indonesian family, I was sceptical about giving this place a go. But I was not disappointed – what a find!
Tucked away in a little side street off East Street, locals and tourists are treated to a real taste of Indonesia. To my relief, the chefs are from Bali and Sumatra and not from some other Asian country assuming they can use their transferrable skills on just any cuisine. I had a beautifully arranged Nasi Campur that I can only recommend. Will definitely be back!

I really wish I had tried this place sooner. The dinner menu is a good mix of well known favourites as well as new things to try. The staff are polite, attentive and very pleasant. The food was delicious and very good value. We couldn't fault it and can't wait to go again!

Small & friendly restaurant at the end of the lanes.
We have been lunch time and for dinner - both very good.
Great value for money at lunch time. 8 GBP for an Sate appetizer, followed by a large portion of Nasi Goreng and to top it off ice cream. My favourite was the cinnamon/ginger. Nicely flavored and not too spicy but you can order extra sambal olek if you want.
we will go again!

Very tasty and authentic Indonesian food. Good value main courses and I agree that they are substantial enough to not need the small starter.
I had local mackerel on my visit. Perfectly cooked in a spicy sauce, served with boiled rice. It was tasty without being too hot. Side dish of dark veggies was really good. Under 25 quid including a glass if wine & good service.

A really nice place. The main courses were both interesting and tasty. Service was friendly and the decour was nice. Prices are good (they do an express lunch which seems like a great deal but I can't speak for the quality of it as I havent tried it). It is definetely worth a visit.
I spent 2 weeks in Bali last winter, a place where there isnt much variety in the cuisine so that after 2 weeks of it for lunch and dinner you get abit sick of it, so I was a bit causitious about trying out and indonesian restaurant in the UK. But I thought I'd give it a go after seeing a couple of reviews online as I'm always looking for nice new places in brighton.
And I was pleasantly suprised, not only does this place do great food but they have tailored it really well to fit an english palate and style of dining. The food is definetely indonesian but has a lot more depth of flavour than the usual tourist fair I got used to on holiday.
My girlfriend and I had a brown noodle dish and a gado gado (vegitables with peanut sauce) to share, both of which I reccommend. The menu is sizeable, though options are more limited if you are veggy (but I've learnt to expect that from most places). I'd like to see them offer some of the meat main course dishes with either tofu or tempe (a bean cake they make in indonesia) as this would greatly improve the options for veggies (which can only be good for business in brighton).
The starters were a little small for the price but I guess that is similar in a lot of place. I'd suggest saving a few pounds and just getting the mains which are decently sized portions.
One great thing is that the dishes really stand out against other similar places; before this I'd never even heard of an indonesian restuarant in the UK. It is distinctively different from your run of the mill thai or chinese place and it certainly stands on it's own feet when it comes to the food.
I would thouroughly recommend it if you are looking for some decent, different oriental food.
