This is my favourite hotel in Hamburg, and I have tried a few!
First of all great location on the edge of the lake; do try to get a room with lake views. If you cant, make sure you have breakfast in the top floor restaurant. You will get a fabulous outlook on the water, and the buffet breakfast is well above average.

The rooms are modern and comfortable, I particularly like the wet rooms in the bathrooms.
The decor is neutral but stylish, and the beds very comfortable. Not as striking as the Side Hotel, but easier to live in and less over-engineered.

One minor point: the staff could be a touch more welcoming (maybe I always check in late at night and they are tired by then...)
