Great food great atmosphere, can always get a good real ale whenever i vist

What can you say about the Kelham that hasn’t been already said above? It really is an excellent place. The staff make you feel very welcome and always are willing to have a bit of banter. The owners and landlords really do deserve all the awards they get. Plus the food is great too. Easily accessible from the tram lines.

Kelham Island Tavern is justly one of Sheffield’s most feted pubs. In next to no time at all the pub’s landlords created a real ale Mecca and helped to create the now famous Sheffield ‘Beer Valley’. There’s a wide range of ever-changing real ales and there’s a great selection of Continental lagers on tap and in bottle. Prices are very reasonable.

Décor is neither flash nor fancy but it’s tasteful and cosy with no juke box or TV to spoil the ambience. Many of the clientele are serious real ale drinkers - you may even see ‘beer spotters’ with their notebooks and badge-strewn caps carefully inspecting the pumps! – but don’t be put off.

The small beer garden is an oasis on a summer’s evening.

Staff are excellent – friendly and knowledgeable about their products.

This used to be my local and i do miss it. Its a very relaxed friendly pub, the staff are great.

Its a Real Ale pub and has a good selection of beers, if your not sure which real ale you’d like to have you can ask for a taster to see if you like it.

The beer garden is lovely and often wins “In Bloom” awards for its floral displays, there’s the resident cat too often asleep somewhere in the garden.

It serves very good homemade cheap food at lunchtimes too.

The Kelham Island Tavern is a hidden gem and one of the highlights of Sheffield’s real ale trail which has won numerous awards. A wide range of excellently kept real ale is available at reasonable prices and is served by friendly bar staff.

The main room at the front can get quite busy, but there is another room at the back which often has live music, and there is also a small (award winning) beer garden which is great to sit in during the long summer evenings, but there are also covered areas for when the weather is not so good!

The Kelham Island has quickly become established as an essential part of the Upper Don Valley Real Ale Trail, and was awarded Sheffield CAMRA “Pub of the Month” in May 2003 and also the Lord Mayor’s Award for the best kept and decorated public house in the 2003 Sheffield in Bloom competition

Another traditional pub that’s won countless awards for it’s selection of real ale. Great bar staff, great atmosphere, great food, great prices, and host to great live music from time to time.
