Had my hair cut there last Saturday, mainly chose it because I couldn't get booked in with my regular hairdresser or my back up. After I'd booked it I googled reviews and was a little bit worried after reading the one most recent ones on here. Desperation (my hair has grown out of a very specific style) made me risk it anyway. Have to say I was way more than pleasantly surprised. Sue cut my hair and she was great. I wanted a fringe, and having slightly un-predictable hair, she talked me through all the pros and cons and worst case scenario to make sure I was 100% sure I wanted her to cut. I took a photo with me and I got pretty much exactly the style I was going for. A few days on and I'm managing to style it my own way, and it looks how I want it to - I have had haircuts before where it looks great in the salon and then impossible to do anything with it when I get home. Also, I have a lot of awkward ear piercings and she was very careful. So all in all very pleased. Was slightly more expensive than I usually pay, but only by a few quid. I would definitely go back.

The salon itself is located centrally, and decorated rather nicely. The receptionist is also very polite and welcoming. That's where the pleasantries end. 

I had to wait for around 20 minutes past the time of my appointment, but I didn't mind too much. What I did mind is the following. I brought with me several magazine clippings of what I would like my hair to look like, but the resulting haircut looked completely different. Because I wear glasses (and obviously take them off while having my hair cut), I can't interject in the middle of having it cut and can only see what it looks like at the very end. 

I wanted my hair thinning out, but my sides to be left fairly long - as evidenced by every clipping I brought with me. Instead, the hairdresser decided to make me look like a carrot top - leaving a lot on top, and giving me very short sides. I look, and feel, like an imbecile and will never be frequenting Z&H again, and will also be discouraging my friends and family from doing so. What's worse, I paid £30 for what is clearly a £5 Mr Topper cut. 

Worst hair cut of my life, and I say that without a hint of bombast.

Although I did get a trainee, the entire experience was appalling. I was left waiting a good 20-30 minutes to book my appointment, and I had to wait another 15 for my actual appointment.
My hairdressers persistent combing through my ear lead to my earring being ripped out. My hairdresser acted completely oblivious and uncaring to the pain she was causing with no apology.
During my haircut it also felt like my whole scalp was trying to be ripped off my head. And she did the exact opposite of what I told her to do.
Even with her tutor there I still did not get the simple haircut or style I wanted.
I came home with the worst cut I have ever had, will definitely not be going back there again.
Worst experience ever, would not recommend!!!

Expensive but these guys have loads of awards which you can see advertised on their door. Friends great service and they do special discounts on certain days of the week too :)
