Recommended to try here from some friends North of the County. Glad to have done so…!
I normally dine up at Jenners at an Indian buit decided to visit this wonderful authentic realistic ‘bit of Italy’.
It would seem I’m in the company of like-minded reviewers.
Good hit!!

What a find! If you love Italy, you’ll love this restaurant! Having recently moved to the area, we wandered into Billingshurst after work one day, to see what was there. We came across Dolce Salato, and thought we’d see what it was like. I’m so glad we did! Welcoming, friendly, a truly down to earth Italian restaurant, with absolutely excellent food. I had the best pizza I’ve ever eaten outside Italy itself. Prices are reasonable too. The wines on offer are superb too. If I could afford it, I’d eat at Dolce Salato at least three times a week. Until then, I’ll have to be content with eating there once a week, and visiting for as many coffees as I can. Oh, and the ingredients are imported from Italy too….the flour for the pizzas is the genuine thing, the best in the world.
Don’t forget, if you don’t use it, you’ll lose it – if you’re thinking of visiting Dolce Salato, do it NOW!!

Had the most beautiful meal last night. The red wine flowed, we felt very welcome, chef cooked off the menu and the food was delicious. Having had lovely memories of Italy, walking into Dolce Salato was like stepping out of Billingshurst Villiage High Street into a restaurant in Tuscany. Dining there felt like being part of the family.

What an absolutely excellent little cafe/deli. This establishment is my favorite food outlets in Billingshurst, the owners are truly welcoming, and the food is out of this world. I would have to say this little corner of Italy in West Sussex is well worth the visit, you will not be disappointed.....
Excellent service with fresh and beautifully prepared food this establishment will make you return again and again and again.
This is a massive thankyou to the owners of Dolce Salato for making my taste buds somersault....

I would give Dolce Salato 5 stars each time. I have been there several times and they have been very welcoming to my children, who can be fidgety and choosy at times. Their food is the type of food you would find in Italy and absolutely delicious. I wish them the best and hope that they will have a long and fruitful business in Billingshurst.

Fantastic food served with a smile by a charming couple. I've shopped at the deli counter for some time (proscuitto to die for) & became aware of delicious smells emanating from the kitchen. Took an Italian friend for lunch & suffered the indignity of plate licking after each course.
I had lunch there again today. Fresh mussels cooked in wine & black pepper served with warm foccacia followed by wild mushroom stuffed pasta in a creamy fresh mushroom sauce. I don't normally eat puddings but persuaded Him Indoors to order the lemon cake with cream & ended up nicking the lion's share. Sorry Simon, I'll order two next time.
Am deeply reluctant to share this information in case I have trouble securing a table in the future but these people are doing a fantastic job in the most unlikely of places & deserve to succeed.
Wishing Christiana & Maurizio all the best & hoping they'll remember me when the gourmands of West Sussex cotton on.
