A small and cosy pub that’s not particularly full of life, but has some good drinks for beer lovers. Not very hip and happening, but a nice place for parents and locals. It’s a refreshing change from the nearby chain bars. The food varies - I’ve not personally tried it, but I’ve heard good things about the pie and bad things about the light bites. It feels a bit like a French or Spanish bar, although without the funky canapes and foreign drinks. The staff are friendly enough. All in all, pretty average, but worth going to if only to try to work out the meaning behind the name…
