Highly recommend Giraffe. We had a few hours to while away at the airport so decided to have dinner there. Two main courses, a mexican dish and a noodle dish both very tasty and filling - no room for sweet. Enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine and finished with a coffee. Served by an attentive waitress and nothing was too much trouble. She was friendly and polite. Will definitely go back there next time in Gatwick.

Stopped by earlier as me and my girlfriend have eaten here before and had some great food and quick service/turnaround. It was a Friday afternoon and it wasn't as busy as my previous visits - i would say about half full.
Yet, once we were seated we sat idle for about 10 minutes - we weren't even approached once since being seated, not even for drinks, we were completely invisible to the staff on the floor.
Only when it got to the 15 minute mark we decided to get up and leave and 'astonishingly' a member of staff suddenly approached from the nearby till when she saw us stand up and move away; so perhaps some of the previous reviews are correct that the staff seem to appear busy yet aren't really doing anything...
Don't put your restaurant adjacent to the departures gate when you can't efficiently serve customers in an airport where time means everything - you have lost my future custom, cya.

Just returned to an airport hotel that links to the terminall so sitting in room writing this review; food in Giraffe was excellent, service was happy (very smiley) and fast. Really feel we have had value for the money paid.
Lots of families in the restaurant, all happy as going on holiday. This feeling of 'good times' is reflected by the staff attitude. All in all very satisfied.

Agree with JohnHenry1980. For an airport restaurant it was incredibly slow - surprising as the Heathrow T5 branch is very efficient. I can only narrow it down to poor management as it definitely wasn't understaffed. Our server seemed to be doing all the work while other staff hung about idly. The manager, we can only assume, emerged a couple times only to check bar stock, completely clueless to mayhem around him. The positives - food was decent, standard giraffe fare and our server was pleasant even though he had no support. Only go if you're not in a rush.

Got tempted into the place after seeing on the menu Huevos Rancheros - a combination of free range fried or scrambled eggs, chorizo, black beans, jack cheese, adobe sauce, avocado & tomato salsa on warm tortilla. You can have a veggie option with roasted field mushrooms.
For the price of £8.25, when it comes it looks somewhat disappointing in size however the combination of flavours and that it is served on a large flat tortilla, you are soon full.
The eggs were perfect, the yolks akin to poached, slightly firm on the outer with a runny centre. The Avocado was firm but not entirely tasteless though could have been richer in flavour and the same for the tomato, a little lacking in flavour.
The black beans and Adobe sauce certainly lifted the dish along with the optional Chipolte sauce.
Initially the service was second to none, friendly and attentive without being patronising however this slipped after I had finished eating with my bill and takeout coffee (Union roasted) taking too long and required prompting.
On the whole, will certainly come again as there's another Mexican breakfast dish on the menu.

The service was not great, they seem to have a different member of staff for each role. i.e. 1 For drinks, 1 for food, 1 to clear etc. If you get hold of the wrong one they will find the right one. Why couldn’t the first guy just pass on that I wanted another drink.
There are lots of staff trying to look busy, but none of them really doing anything. We worked out that there was 1 staff for every 2 tables. Very shocking.
The table next to us was not cleared for over 10 min. Dishes were on the counter waiting to be served for over 4.5 minutes.
Needless to say when my food arrived it was poor. The onion rings were cold. My chips were bairly warm. The wife struggled to eat her food.
Getting the bill and trying to pay was very hard indeed. (I have written all of this on my phone while waiting for the card to be collected)
In short an abomination of a restaurant.

By far the best team of staff I met in the UK - Me and my son feel like a guests at a very good friends home - seat immediately - members of staff poured smiles generously, exceptionally fast service, British beef burger was excellent and ... and the Giraffe team truly made my day. Thank you guys - you must know - you all are amazing!!!

Great welcome. Seated straight away. Children on next table being given some colouring sheets while their parents peruse the menu. Music is great, as is the overall atmosphere. Lots of laughter.
Food was really good and arrived swiftly despite the restaurant being busy. Very attentive waitress assisting me.
Really nice visit and would recommend.
