Me and the misses had dinner here on Thursday the 27th and were blown away. We are both not vegan, but are into a healthy and sustainable lifestyle and we though we'd try it out. We did that once before (cookies and cream) but that wasn't a big success.

I'm glad to say, this was a totally different experience. Let's leave aside if it's vegan, vegetarian, or not at all, this was one fabulous meal.

Wine was great, service extremely friendly.... and we can't wait to go again.

If you were to judge a restaurant by the celebrity clientele that frequents it, what does it say that we were sitting but a stones throw from (in my girlfriend's words) a 'terrible actress' from the daily German soap Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten? Well, happily not much. This is excellent vegetarian food and the approach here is quality, not quantity - something to be aware of if you're particularly hungry (our two courses did, however, manage to fill us despite appearing small on the plate). The menu is small too, with perhaps three options for a main plus the special. The food itself varied between 4 & 5 stars, and while the seitan fillet failed to inspire, the lentil samosas starter more than made up for this. Overall, a really pleasant meal in a nice area, and worth the money.

In the heart of Prenzlauer Berg sits this little gem that will capture your vegan heart. Although small and unassuming be prepared for a slow dining experience as the dishes are obviously prepared to order — and what dishes they are!

The menu changes every six weeks but on our stay we started with the tomato-lemongrass soup which was savory and well seasoned but compared to the appetizers can be skipped if you are not overly hungry. The ravioli appetizer in particular is a feast for the eyes and the taste buds and can hold its own in any fine dining restaurant.

Our mains were beautifully presented. We found the polenta a little bit over salted but otherwise the tomato ball and pumpkin carrot confit made up for it. The seitan steak in red pepper and onion gravy with frites and beet infused potato mash was a comforting and filling dish that offered tasty surprises with each bite. It was fun to mix and play with the various components of the dishes to discover new flavors and even more fun to share particularly tasty combinations with each other.

We didn’t have room for dessert but left well satisfied and satiated. Overall we were rather pleased by our dining experience and look forward to our next visit to Lucky Leek.
