For the 1940’s olympic games (that were never held, for obvious reasons) the Olympic Village (Olympiakylä) was built south of the so called Wood Käpylä. Later, for the 1952 games, Kisakylä aka. The Olympic Games Village was built.
Highlight of the area is probably the Käärmetalo (Serpentine House) from 1951 by Y.Lindegren.
Maybe one has to be a huge lover of the architecture and architecture history to fully pruchiate these buildings, but especially on a warm day give it a try.
