Review of Mrs Marengo's from 14 November 2010

This is definitely one of my favourite places for desserts
The one I love best is the raspberry truffle cake, and although I'm not a vegan let me just add this cake is vegan cake. And oh yeah it was good, more than enough to get u a sugar high for the rest of the day~
I'm not totally addicted to this place and have to get a piece of cake whenever I pass by~
Next time, I'll have a coffee as well~

Review of Mrs Marengo's from 23 October 2009

Mushrooms seasoned well, presentation a delight and eggs scrambled beautifully, along with delicious spinach and strong smooth coffee. M. R. Jnr would have been proud.

Have an excellent start to the day with a breakfast feast to keep you going well into, well, mid morning at the very least (when you'll just want any excuse to come back for more, maybe something a little sweeter – see the pictures and previous reviews for what might be in store in that direction).

Very friendly and welcoming, attentive service with a genuine smile. Excellent. Recommended.

Leaftop Really nice little place - had a look at Govinda's reviews and that looks good too

Jane_Elizabeth Yes, great choice in London for every taste..

Yummy yummy yummy!

I recommend the char grilled quesadilla.

Coffee is good and the portions are well sized to match the price.

Fancy cupcakes and frozen yoghurt too.

Review of Mrs Marengo's from 26 June 2009

I made plans to meet a friend for lunch at Mildreds today but, arriving early once, took a wander further up Lexington Street to pass the time looking in windows and came across the delighful Mrs Marengo’s. Brighter and more cheerful looking than Mildreds and serving many of the same sorts of dishes for less money, it was well worth a try…and boy did it deliver.

I was in need of serious refreshment after a night on the tiles and was happy to discover the spaghetti could be served vegan (everything is vegetarian and there are numerous vegan options too). I couldn’t resist a side order of butterbean and sundried tomato salad after witnessing the glorious heaped bowls of different salad mixtures on the counter, and though it was possibly a bit too much food for me to eat I did my best, safe in the knowledge it was super healthy and absolutely delicious.

I wish I’d had room for some cake - there were at least two vegan desserts on offer and plenty of amazing looking veggie cakes. I’d definitely pop in for cake and coffee some time - they serve Monmouth of course, yum! - and after receiving such happy, friendly service at Mrs Marengos I’m not sure I’ll ever have to go back to Mildreds and its rude staff…during the day anyway.

Hurrah!

Review of Mrs Marengo's from 29 September 2008

Sooooo excited about finding this place!! It’s a vegetarian cafe that also does great coffee, scrumptious breakfasts, and some of the best cakes I’ve ever tasted. What else does a veggie cake munching girl who thinks breakfast is her favourite meal of the day and loves to wash everything down with a good (but weak) cup of coffee want?? Brilliant place in a brilliant location and just top notch food. The soups looked wholesome, hearty and yummy, and I’ll definitely be going back to check them out. I ate the lemon meringue pie which was just about up there with the one my mum used to make and that’s saying something! Superb. Chocolate butterfly cake was pretty good too and took me back to all those kiddie parties back in the day… All in all a fab place and a great name too.

Review of Mrs Marengo's from 29 September 2008

Spotted this place on the way to a meeting the other day and managed to steer everyone back there so I could check the place out.

We only had coffee but I was drooling all over the cakes while I was in there, so I was especially grateful to my workmate this afternoon when she brought back a selection to the office.

They do some of the best lemon meringue I've ever tasted, and the butterfly cakes are a world away from the ones I remember eating as a kid (sorry mum!).

This is a great new addition to Soho, I'll be popping over there for breakfast very soon hopefully.

Review of Mrs Marengo's from 5 September 2008

A delight for vegetarians, Mrs Marengo’s is rapidly becoming a Soho sensation.

An offshoot of Mildred’s (the vegetarian restaurant a couple of doors away on Lexington St), Mrs Marengo’s specialises in hearty breakfasts, light lunches and cakes. I mean CAKES! Really amazing cakes!

Meringues tower tall, gateaux glint with silky dark chocolate, tarts glisten with luscious berries. I haven’t yet ploughed my way through the flap jacks and other 'cakelets’, but as soon as my arteries and blood sugar allow, I will!

They also srerve fabulous coffee here. Service isn’t the speediest, but at this quality I don’t mind. Prices are reasonable for this part of town, under £5 for a cappucino and a breakfast bap with egg and two vegetarian sausages and brown sauce.
