I usually pop into Chorlton to do a spot of none supermarket shopping (which is increasingly often these days). Chorlton Place (nee Chorlton Precinct) is ideal for these credit crunching days (quality save fine tuned for these times). A bit further in the precinct from Quality Save is this fine greengrocers - if it has a name I haven’t seen one. All I know is they sell a fine range of fruit and veg at very good prices (and you’re not paying for the surplus, daft packaging you get at many supermarkets). A huge tub of raspberries in fact sits a mere foot away from my modern typing machine whilst a mixed gang bang of other small red fruits (not a bad one amongst them) awaits in the lower apartment of my refrigerator.
For silly prices you’ll come away with a bagful of healthy grub - add a trip to Barbakan and you’ve got a lunch of the gods at the end of your fingertips.
