awful. went there for my birthday and ended up with a bad stomach. i bit into on of the ribs and it was raw at the bone. the food came out luke-warm and the noodles were burnt.
the actual restaurant looked like it needed a good hoover and the lamp shades were dusty. our glasses were dirty and the table clothes were stained. i dont understand how environmental health have not been here and closed it down. disgusting. was a very bad end to a good day.
Have only ever eaten dim sum here, so need to confine my comments to that side of things. Fairly run-of-the-mill - all the standards, nothing outstanding, but a good place to people watch if you can bag a table with a view of the street. If you're desperate for cracking dim sum, and happy to pay double the prices here, stumble over to Yauatcha. If you just want to zone out for a few minutes with some pleasing bites to eat with tea and/or the odd cold Tsingtao, this is a reasonable pick.
Very disappointed with service and food in general. I booked the downstairs section for my birthday for 40 people. Despite booking it a month in advance, on the actual day, my guests were turned away and told to come back a hour later and the tables weren't even ready when they came back. The restaurant manager was darn right rude and have no idea about customer service. I will be coming back for sure.
been here over and over it is a very nice place clean and efficient staff food is always piping hot fresh and tasty i would reccomend this to anyone i always take friends here for lunch have never been let down yet brilliant
Gerrard’s Corner is a bog-standard Chinatown restaurant serving bog-standard dim sum. I’m a particularly fussy eater when it comes to dim sum, and this didn’t meet my standards. Wont be going back again, and certainly not recommending this restaurant to anyone.
Gerrard’s Corner is a mainstay of the Chinatown scene, and with good reason! You just can’t go wrong with delicious dim sum served quickly by the expert and obliging staff. Even the Chinese dramatic pop tunes playing along with their videos on the big screens can’t put a damper on the generally friendly atmosphere. Try the duck pancakes or, if you’re feeling more adventurous, sample the delicious pork buns. For non-Chinese speakers there are helpful illustrations of the dishes to guide the discerning eye through the plethora of steaming delicacies on offer. The place is immaculate and the bathrooms are the best in Chinatown.
We are starting to work our way through the various Chinatown restaurants now Qype HQ is on Leicester Square and today it was the turn of the incredibly unimaginatively named Gerrard’s Corner (not a Liverpool FC reference, its on the corner of Gerrard Street…and, yes I know it’s not spelled like that).
They did a solid three star job of feeding us, spicy beef was good and the prawns were nice and meaty. Good sesame toast too. Music was a little intrusive and, how can I put this…rubbish, but you can zone it out after five minutes.
I’m still waiting for my amazing Chinatown experience, but this place serves a need and I’d go back.
talia Rob, ignore Chinatown & go slightly up Greek Street to Y Ming. It’s amazing.

A nice little chinese restaurant on Wardour St. Canto pop in the background and the air conditioning is cranked onto high (which is nice on a day like this, but not so noce for the environment i guess). Reasonable prices and a good selection of dishes. Chicken and cashew nut was particularly good. I’ll go back, but there are so many more chinese restaurants to try in china town!
