Jonathan advised how to tackle the redesign of our small garden which was very overgrown. He cleared it - removing some plants with very extensive roots - leaving it neat and tidy and ready for the next stage of replanting on which he has also advised most expertly.
He is knowledgeable, encouraging and easy to work with.

Jonathan sold (for another happy client) and delivered a cross trainer to me. As I don't have a car, he picked me up from my location to view the item and kindly delivered me back again. He delivered the cross trainer exactly when he said he would and was extremely friendly and courteous during the whole process. I would definitely employ Jonathan again when I need a helping hand and I will certainly highlight the service to my friends. Thank you so much Jonathan!

Jonathen Ridge has provided gardening and plant pot maintenance for me  throughout the summer and autumn of 2012.
The quality of his work is exceptional and he is very hardworking .Importantly he is corteous,comes when he says he will and knowledgeable about the plants and shrubs in my garden

Jonathan has now been employed by us, several times, working on our large garden in Milngavie, mostly doing pruning  bushes, digging and weeding beds,  removal of roots and general maintenance. He always worked liked a Trojan without the usual extended breaks for cups of tea and lunch.

Jonathan has also a very pleasant personality and he always kept in touch with us to ensure that he was doing what we wanted him to do.  He seems to know a great deal about plants and what to do best  for them. 

We have therefore no hesitation in recommending Jonathan for the type of work he has done for us and we are sure he would prove to be also equally competent in carrying out the other services which he offers to provide.  We think he provides excellent value for money.

Jonathan did a great cat sitting job for us, looking after two shy big cats and making sure they were happy and comfortable. A much better way for us to leave them while on holiday rather than a cattery as they really like wandering in their own space. Jonathan is trustworthy, charming and reliable and we'll ask him to look after the cats again. 

Jonathan cleared my front (very sloping) garden areas.  It took him eight hours of hard graft, in the pouring rain, but he did a fantastic job and could not have been more helpful, pleasant or considerate.  He gave me advice on how to manage the planting of new shrubs and other plants and followed this up with an emailed list of suitable plants for that particular area.  I am absolutely delighted with the work Jonathan has done and I will have no hesitation in recommending him to my friends.  Apart from being a good gardener, hard worker and horticultural ‘wise man’ he is also a great conversationalist!  His services were worth every penny.

Our once beautiful family garden had fallen into a sad state of disrepair. Following a bereavement, the garden had been largely unattended for over a year and was seriously overgrown. Jonathan was recommended by a friend and he initially came to attend to the lawn which was a mammouth task in itself. Jonathan cleared the lawn and we were so amazed by the results that we immediately hired him for long-term work on the garden. We would say that Jonathan is a true gardener and an excellent worker who takes his own initiative to deliver the best service for his customer. We feel that Jonathan's service is worth every penny for the First Class work, effort and energy he puts in. Our view is that a cheaper service would be a false economy. We are very grateful that our much loved garden has been brought back to life.

I am so grateful To jonathan for the fabulous job he did in my garden yesterday. My garden needed a full weed, as I had friends coming last minute, and as I am completely blind, I couldn’t do it myself. Jonathan understood my predicament, and re-organised his day to fit me in last minute. He was fast, reliable and very charming, gave me some tips on how I could improve my garden, and due to the fact that I can’t see, he told me about all the beautiful scented plants I could put in my garden, so that I could have a wonderful sensory experience this summer,. His enthusiasm and knowledge really impressed me, and I would have absolutely no hesitation about recommending him to any of my friends. Having used Jonathan for the first time, I will definetly be using him on a regular basis, as not only did he do a professional job, his prices were amazing too. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Jonathan, you’re a life saver!

Jonathan was recommended by a friend and near neighbour, and I am glad that I have found him. He came for a full day in March and completely transformed our garden, which now looks immaculate. He weeded and cut back bushes, removed a small tree and filled 19 black bin bags! He is also very knowledgeable about plants, and suggested moving some of ours to a better spot, and recommending others to be purchased to fill spaces. He worked extremely hard and was chereful and interesting to talk to when he stopped briefly for a coffee or brief lunch. His charges are fair for the excellent work that he does. On that day he was not charging for petrol, but now he is which increases the cost a little, but still worth the money. He is coming back next month to do my planters and hanging baskets.

Very good hard worker who cleared a large overgrown garden, neatly and tidily. All garden waste was put into bags, bad weather did not interfere with his work. He is, in addition a very pleasant person who does not waste time but gets on with the work in hand. I was delighted with his efforts and have no hesitaiton in recommending him. His price is very fair for the work done but it is not cheap.

I have multiple sclerosis and find it difficult to do tasks involving energy and effort. Jonathan has cleaned my house, tidied my veranda,and organized my life with enthusiasm and committment. Also my cats have fallen in love with him for the tender loving care he gave while I was on holdiay for a month last year. Very highly recommended.

The very large corner garden of our Hyndland tenement was transformed by Jonathan of Helpinhand in Spring last year, with newly-dug flower-beds, well-pruned shrubs, repainted boundary wall and much-needed TLC for the grass. All done with cheerful energy and reliable efficiency, providing helpful advice on suitable new plants and within the agreed price. We’ve now moved onto long-term maintenance now which is working very well. Highly recommended!

Johnathon cleared a wilderness garden ( two large skips )into a beautiful practical family garden restoring pathways, borders and lawned area.He used his extensive knowledge of plants taking account of the enviornment and our personal choices.This old and tardy garden had been neglected for over thirty years and has been totally transformed . Overall the total work was within the budget we allocated and the added value far outways the cost

Jonathan from Helpinhand is a real gem for Glasgow and really helped us out when we just didn’t have the time or skills to finish off some diy in our flat before our baby arrived. He fixed the weight in our window and realigned a door/lock to the nursery. His prices were good and his service was exceptional. It is good to know that someone like Jonathan is local and flexible and can be relied upon.

Carried out a daily check on my house when I was out of the country for 8 weeks. Jonathan carried out a checks with myself as what was expected and what he was to look after.
It was a very good service and meant that I had peace of mind knowing that my house was safe and secure. Jonathan has a bubbly character and I would use Helpline again
