Very rude staff. ice cream’s good but small portions that are too expensive. and did i mention the staff are ALWAYS Moody!! me and my friends from work come to leicester sq. sometimes to look for a place to eat and we’ve found the staff in HD are always rude whether it is in the restaurant side of the HD shop or just to buy ice cream on the left.
i’d rather go to the supermarket for haggen dazs ice cream than get the hassle from the employees workin’ there!!
the head office need to teach their staff to be more nicer, stop givin’ customers this attitude and stop being stuck up and looking down on customers.

As you can expect they have fantastic ice creams and it is certainly worth visiting for that. But anything else on the menu is not particularily great. Also the service is at times pretty horrible, and prices pretty steep. These days I consider it a bit of a place for tourists. I prefer to go in, get my ice cream and then get out as soon as I can! There is also a ben and jerrys up the road which also does pretty good ice cream to take away.

Although its smack in the middle of the tourist hot-spot in London, the staff work efficiently to get through the lines waiting at the take-out counter.
Long lines for their cafe area are to be expected on the weekends, but once you’re in its a luxurious experience and staff are friendly.
There’s not much to say about the ice cream… I’m sure everyone has experienced Haagen Dazs before, and its the same no matter where you are in the world!

UPDATE: The service in here on Saturday was great actually, despite it being busy. I was treated with a smile, quickly and friendly and my family seemed to enjoy it as well. Guess it just depends on who you get serving you, but I was impressed as it wasn’t my choice to come here. Still not sure I’d make a special trip back, but I was pleasantly surprised and i’ve given them an extra star. UPDATE.
I had a similar evil staff experience to Ahunter. I like ice cream as much as the next person, but it’s really not worth the effort to come here.
It was POURING with rain when we get here, but we were asked not to wait in the doorway. We had to wait outside in the cold. When we pointed out that there was an empty table inside, the woman ignored me and walked off. When we finally got seated she ignored us and walked off. In fact, everyone ignored us! And all she did all night was glare at us. Why? What did we do wrong?
We even got hassle when we complained about waiting ages for the bill. It’s not like this is a posh place. It’s ice cream for goodness sake. Expensive ice cream at that.
I’ll buy it from the supermarket and eat it on the sofa instead. The service in my house is excellent and I can eat the whole tub all at once! Yay!

Usually has big queues in the evening, even in the winter months for the sit in section. You can go to the take out section and either sit outside or even if you are going to one of the cinemas near by. If you want to wait, the restaurant area is fairly big. You are served quickly and the ice cream desserts are really good, just pricey.

I’ve been working at this place for about six months. I know the description of all types of ice cream by heart. I know which ice creams are suitable for people allergic to nuts, I know which contain no milk and I know every sundae and every smoothie. I am Häagen Dazs.
Many costumes asked me about the meaning of the name “Häagen Dazs”. Häagen Dazs was established by Polish immigrants in The New York Bronx in the early 1920’. Neither the word “Häagen” nor the word “Dazs” appears in any language. I found a very good explanation of the name on Wikipedia. Having no actual meaning, the company says that the name stands for costumer statisfaction, quality and innovation.
Enjoy your ice cream!

This is a fabulous, totally unique ice cream parlour in the centre of London. The term “ice cream parlour” really does not do this place justice, it is incredibly luxorious and decadent. They offer so many different ways to eat ice cream it is unbelievable! The menu has to be seen to be believed and Ice cream is the whole focus, you can have cream teas with ice cream, hot chocolate with ice cream - all sorts. They have the most divine seasonal specials too. You can eat in or take away. It is always, always busy and can get very crowded, but going here always feels like such an indulgence!

Ice cream here is excellent, one of the best places in London for ice cream. You can either buy your ice cream takeaway from their takeaway outlet or sit in the coffee shop. The coffee shop is often full and you may have to queue for a table. If you do take the ice cream take away, there are a few tables outside which you can sit at and watch the world go by. I almost always go for the chocolate flavoured ice cream but there are much more exotic flavours available. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Its just a short walk from Piccadilly and into Soho.

I went here for icecream with some friends and it was a really fun evening. They do ice creams (of course) and cocktails. It is really really expensive but then you’re paying for the good location.
It’s a really clean place and the service is quite good, although we had to wait a while for the table as it was really crowded.
Not something I would do regularly but nice for a one of thing.

One of the best things ever created!!... Strawberry cheesecake is my all time favourite flavour!! Best thing to cure a hangover or a night in with your girlies with a tub of Haagen Diaz and a film!! some people may find it a little pricey but well well worth it!!

Haagen-Dazs flagship store in Leicester Square, is a whole new experience of ice cream indulgence, Hagen-Dazs Leicester Square has become one of the coolest hang outs in Leicester Square and the West End of London.
I find myself on may occasions, especially Friday and Saturday Nights, enjoying a chat with friends over selections of cocktails, and mouth watering ice creams in Hagen-Dazs.
What is great about this place, is no-one can resist Hagen-Dazs ice cream, a smooth cocktail, cake or brownie, cup of Coffee or Hote Chocolate and a great view.
As someone that loves great architecture, the building Hagen-Dazs is in, is one of my favorite buildings in Leicester Square, right in the centre of all the action, from the amazing views from the first floor of Hagen-Dazs you can see the whole Square, and just watch the world go by. If you happen to be there on the day of a movie premier, its like a front row seat, first class ticket, with added benefit of Ice Cream!
To the ground floor lounge area and take away, so if you’re on the move there’s no excuse not to have some Hagen-Dazs.
Hagen-Dazs Leicester Square, you could say is a lover hide out.

No no no no no.
I like ice cream as much as the next. Maybe even more. I’m particularly fond of Haagen Daz for their ice cream version of dulche du leche which is one of my favourite things in the world.
However, we came here (ironically maybe, but not really, we were like kids) to have pudding after having an excellent, -tasty, good-service-and-great-value-meal up the road at Corean Chilli.
Despite all its fancy decor and international reputation - this was a significant step down.
Ther service was a joke. We ordered a regular sized coffee and then they wanted to charge us for a large when they had brought the wrong sized coffee - and said we had to pay for it because it had been drunk - but we didn’t know it was a large size as we had ordered a regular! This palava went on for a good 10 minutes while there were loads of people queuing up outside to get a piece of this awful service. About 5 different staff members each tried to do the same thing - charging us for their mistake. Each time we had to explain it to another one and they would dither off while we wanted to leave.
The ice cream is, expectedly for a tourist trap, unreasonably expensive. Portions are tiny for what you’d expect for £7.10. Where else would you pay £7.10 for an ice cream dessert and get a small bowl with only two scoops?

Meh…. its really only good for the ice cream.. they should stick to what they know. the coffee is not the best and it tasted like the post mix was completely wrong.
Having bought a two drinks from the take away area, myself and a friend were sitting outside. It then proceeded to rain so we went inside and were directed by some staff into the main seated area.
Were however told that we weren’t allowed to sit in the “restaurant” as we had bought our beverages from the take-away section.
I explained that it was raining and that surely as we had bought something from the venue we should be able to sit in there, but alas no.
If you are going there I would suggest buying your ice cream and going to sit in the park opposite and soaking up the summertime in London. You will have a much better time

The reasons why I love Haagen Daz firstly its sells so many flavours of ice cream and secondly Qype’s head office is just on top of Haagen Daz so i can go before work, after work and even during work.
But seriously, its a great place to chillax have some coffee with cookies if you dont fancy an icre cream.
I tried their Crepe once and to be honest did not like it, I just dont think it complements the ice cream but the waffles on the other hand, I can eat every day.
Can be very busy on a friday so try not to get there too late if you want to eat in.

They may have delicious ice cream, but after being chastised by one of the staff in Haagen-Dazs today, i feel it is my duty to tell the world. Let me set the scene -
We were sitting outside the shop in the Haagen Dazs seating area when it began to rain. We had about 1/2 a coffee left, so we decided to go inside to the indoor seating area. As soon as we sat down with our coffees we were immediately approached by an ill tempered staff member and were informed that customers who purchase £3.50 coffees in cardboard cups cannot bring them into the inside area.
“But it’s raining” i said….
“Sorry you must leave” she replied.
“But you only have 3 customers sat down. The area looks like it could accommodate 50!”.
“Sorry, please leave” she said again.
“Are you honestly telling me you are going to make us (customers!) drink this coffee in the pouring rain outside”
“Yes” She said coldy.
This is where i almost lost it. Wild thoughts of pulling out a sawn off shotgun, firing into the ceiling and announcing to everyone that the sheriff was in town and that he was taking no prisoners. But alas, in true English fashion, i held my tongue. Instead, i vent my frustration here (where it will probably reach more people anyway).
Review in one line: Great ice cream, crap staff. It’s as simple as that.

Yeah it’s full of tourists and it’s overpriced and non-organic etc…but this place has two things going for it:
1) It sells ice cream.
2) It’s underneath the Qype UK HQ.
I don’t think I need to offer any more explanation than that do I?
I went for banoffee and pralines and cream and it was just what the doctor ordered (if the doctor was Dr Ice Cream and he was a specialist in tasty goodness).
I did feel sick afterwards but not sick enough tot stop me going back the next time the sun comes out (which may well be sometime around August 2010).

I love Haagen Daz ice cream so naturally this is the place to be. They sell drinks there too besides ice-cream. You can have ice-cream and a hot chocolate which is beautiful. I love cookies and cream and chocolate ice-cream. The whole atmosphere of this place is like a restaurant except that it sells ice-cream instead of food. I had so much chocolate that day that I said I wouldn’t have so much chocolate the next time I went back. When we went back we still had all the chocolatey things we had from the time before. I can never say no tot his place. Its a great place to go too even in winter.

I almost wished this place sold hot food as well, that way I’d have an excuse to be there more. The plethora of choice of desserts is sinful, but if you are an ice-cream connoiseur you have to visit at least once. The hot waffle, cold ice-cream combo is another must try, and do visit regularly as the menu does alter throughout the year. Staff are extremely accommodating, which is always inviting.

The shock of my life a restaurant that serves nothing more then Ice Cream and nice side drinks like my favourite hot chocolate sounds like heaven I didn’t believe when I was told of this place course had to try it for myself and of course I was wrong and of course the Ice Cream was scrumptious and I wanted to come back. Expect the same treatment as if it was a food restaurant serving very good quality food up West because it’s an Ice Cream restaurant serving up quality presentable Ice cream up West. Presentation of the food is exquisite. The Ice Cream can be filling so make sure you come prepared.

Ok, it might be overrated, it might be overcrowded with tourists, it might have a slow service, but it all fades away when you taste their deliciously warm waffle covered in maple syrup along with a scoop of pralines and cream and another of dulce de leche - it’s worth every single pence of it’s £6,40 price. Everytime I order this to share I kinda regret - I want it all for myself! Avoid it on weekends, though - the queues might get huge and the service even slower. But do go on a weekday afternoon and just throw yourself in a sofa while you wait for your treat. They also have a take-away place, for a quick ice-cream fix.

This place is great. It is decorated in a very stylish way, it is very clean and staff are very courteous and helpful as soon as you step inside. The prices are a bit steep, but expected for the area. The deserts they have are original, such as a hot chocolate with ice cream inside and biscuits, and skewers with fruit. Everything we ate was nice but we did feel sick after with soo much chocolate! it was worth it though. for two, the bill came to £20.

If you like ice-cream, this place should be on you ‘must visit’ list. They have the full range of Hagen Daz flavours plus all the limited edition ice-cream & sorbet flavours. The menu changes seasonally to include, not just ice-cream & sorbet, but hot chocolates, hot & cold coffee variations, cookies, brownies, cocktails (alcoholic & non-alcoholic) and fruit based desserts. They have loads of seating both upstairs and downstairs, with a mixture of comfy sofas and smaller round tables with chairs as well as a take-away section by the entrance. Always a pleasure to visit, even in the colder months.
