The nearest Argos to me in South Manchester is adjoined to the large Asda in Hulme. For an Argos it’s actually a rather polite affair (no hoards of folk, sweating in a queue for their number to be flashed in front of their faces). As such, should you find a good deal on an item (and they have it in stock) you’ll be in and out in no time. I’ve been in other Argos stores and the fact, is your stress levels can often rise to previously insurmountable levels (Christmas time perhaps not the best time to visit). Fighting for catalogue spots, pens and then spaces in the 'cow runs’ is not my favourite pastime if I’m fair.
Fortunately there’s no such hassle on Hulme High Street (it’s not a high street as such…more mini retail park slowly being neighboured with apartment blocks (and some fairly interesting ones at that).
Argos sell a whole host of things these days, from iPods to eye pads; Blu-Rays to Blue Ray Bans - usually matching many online retail stores for price (and beating them on convenience if you’re desperate for goods on the day).
