Hi, Jamie here from Hammersmith tattoo, just thought i would respond to the negative review from “chitown18”
first off let me say i am aware who this review is from and am very sorry to hear that you are not happy with the tattoo you received from us, but do not understand why you did not return after agreeing to do so in order to let us finish the tattoo
i think it is important to get our view on this situation across as well, you came into the shop and asked if we would be able to cover up an old and extremely overworked tattoo you had received a number of years ago, which we was happy to do, I offered to book you in with one of our tattooists, I showed you his portfolio of work and you seemed happy to book an appointment
I explained that we only take bookings with a £50 deposit which is standard practice amongst the majority of tattoo shops, you explained that you didn’t have that kind of money on you, i told you it wasn’t a problem and you could instead give me what you had on you, which was £20, i did this for one reason alone, GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE,
You then asked for a price of the tattoo, i informed you that we charge by the hour but a ROUGH QUOTE without knowing the exact size for the piece it would be AROUND £150, if the end result would have been bigger, then the tattoo would have cost more, and in the same breath if the tattoo was smaller it would have of course cost less
One the day of your appointment, once the tattoo had been finished, the artist informed you that the tattoo would be £200, we recognised that you seemed unhappy with this price so once again in the name of “good customer service” we dropped the price down to £170, again we only did this to try and keep you happy
now in terms of result, there was a small amount of ink bleeding around the tattoo, this is due to the fact that not only was it a cover up and the tattoo we needed to cover was very heavily done and therefore needed to work harder to get the ink in but without being rude it was also down to the age and condition of your skin,
on hearing you was unhappy with the result we recommended that you come back into the shop and we would take a look at it and then let you know how we planned to go about fixing this,
as the ink bleed was fairly small, we said we would happily free of charge put a light coloured back ground behind the rose fixing the problem, at the time you seemed to agree to this and said you would come back or at least be in contact, you never did and until now we have not heard anything from you regarding the situation, i utterly refute some of the claims you have made in terms of the advise given by us on returning to the shop
As you can see throughout the entire process we constantly went out of our way to keep you the customer happy, we offered to “make good” on the situation, an offer, as it would seem you decided to turn down
in short if anything happens at Hammersmith tattoo that the customer is unhappy with, we will do everything in our power to rectify the problem, we very rarely if never at all receive negative reviews, this is why i feel it is important to have our views on this heard,
