This is an interesting little museum. Set within and run by the Guru Nanak Gurdwara it nestles behind the Jewry Wall Museum and site. Naturally, you are required to remove your shoes and cover your head before you enter the Gurdwara proper. Also worth checking out the opening hours before you go as I think they are only open for one afternoon a week.
However, once you do get in, it’s a fascinating introduction to the Sikh culture. The star objects are the paintings by a local man representing stories from Sikhism which are colourful and vibrant and really tell the stories well. Next to the paintings, I recommend the amazingly detailed models of the famous temples, including one of the Golden Temple at Amritsar. There is also a host of other objects that relate to Sikhism and as someone coming with no background knowledge I found my visit very informative.
I would recommend going to an open day if they hold one during Castle Park Festival as then you’ll no doubt get to try some fantastic food as well!
