I lived and worked in Gibraltar for the last 6 years, and I was amazed at some of the places tourist ate in. The majority of them were the ones locals knew never to eat in. So for my fellow Qpye friends I have broken it down into the 3 main eating areas in Gibraltar for you.

Firstly (and most commonly used), Casemate Square and Main Street is just full of touristy bars and cafes. This is the worse place to eat in Gibraltar not only is the food questionable as the majority of the staff are just teenagers come over to work for the summer break, but you have the added benefits of people with there tops off, sweating sat around you. If you are sat outside you also have to fight with the pigeons, flies and mosquitos during your entire eating experience. All the menus here are the same, Burgers, Fish and Chips and Full English Breakfast. If you don’t want to spend your holiday no more then 10 steps for a toilet then I would give this place a miss. Over priced and mass produced food here.

Then you have The Marina. Here you will find a few of the locals in Bianca’s, Charles and few other bistros in this area. The menus are adequate around this area with steaks, seafood and chicken dishes available. The food quality is OK along with the pricing and you have a nice view of the marina whilst eating. However there is building project next to it that spoils it at the moment.

And finally Queensway Quay Marina, these are a nest of a few very high quality restaurants at the base of million pound an apartment district on the waterfront. The food here is amazing and a real jewel in the crown of Gibraltar. The views here of the marina and Bay of Gibraltar are breathtaking. You will not find any lager louts around here, and don’t be surprised if the table next to you is the owners of one of the multi million pound yachts birthed in marina. Menus here are what you will expect from high class restaurants, and the prices reflect that. Maybe not an every night area to eat in on your holiday, however, certainly a one night special treat you won’t forget
