The Brook, Southampton

A fabulous venue, lots going on - yes maybe a few too many tribute bands but then if it keeps the doors open, I'm not going to argue! There are also many other bands, comedy nights and the atmosphere is great.

Superb Live venue!
Recently refurbished with a excellent upstairs seating area as well as a big downstairs area, reguarly gets packed out for a selection of live music, from tribute bands to indie/rock acts.
They have some of the best sixties, seventies, and eighties tribute bands in there every month as well as modern rock tribute bands more irregularly.
Door prices aren’t too bad, and drinks prices are average for the type of events held.
The smoking ban has helped as it conincided with the refurbishment and creates a good well ventilated fresh feel to the venue.
The atmosphere the times I have been have been great, people there to see the bands playing and enjoy them. Saw Greenish Day a few times there and the legend Rahzel there, absolutely awesome atmosphere!

The Brook caters for everyone and eveyr style of music. It features good tribute bands and the acoustics of the place are great. It retains that retro feel of an old theatre while being moderna nd rock enough. The bar prices are decent and there is sitting space upstairs. You can park on the streets of the industrial estate round the corner.

Got a bit of a reputation for being a tribute band hotspot; nothing wrong with that if that is what you like, and a lot of people do, as demonstrated by the queue of people waiting to get in on these tribute band nights.
Not resricted to tributes, the Brook has a long and envyable list of “knowns”, it is just a bit hard to catch 'em in amongst the tribs.
I don’t really get off on tribute acts, but I have got to say that the Brook only ever puts on the best of the best, so go and see your fave and you wont be disapointed.
