The Shorebird

Eating at The Shorebird is more than just a meal, it’s an experience. You see, at the Shorebird, you’re the chef. You order the meat or seafood entree, they bring it to you raw on a plate with cooking instructions, and you go to the grill and cook it. Don’t worry if you can’t cook, there is an experienced grill hand hanging around the grill area and he’ll pop over and help you out if you’re sacrilegiously burning your filet mignon.

Once the thrill of the grill is over, you can sit down to your meal on a table that’s practically on Waikiki beach. From 5pm, your meal is accompanied by local music played by local talent. Top the experience off with a Mai Tai, or one of several other exotic cocktails, from the bar.

All dinner entrees include the salad bar (individually priced at $13), a meal in itself. As well your standard greens and garnishes there is rice, chili, signature Hawaiian dishes such as Kailua Pig and cabbage, Chicken and long rice. It also contains a range of fresh fruits from soft succulent pineapple slices to Hawaiian delicacies such as haupia and poi.

The lunch menu ranges from $10 - $15, popular dishes are the Shorebird Burger and the Fresh Ahi Tacos. The dinner menu ranges from $15 - $30, popular dishes are Top Sirloin and Mahi Mahi (the local name, a sort of dolphin fish).
