A really beautiful and sensational forest, with so much to see, like the Mere where birds come to roost in large numbers. An ideal place for a nice leisurely walk, with or without a dog. The cafe is also a pleasant place to have something to eat and/or drink, and to rest after you have completed your walk.

One of the best places to go for a walk and wander. I must reccomend the Visitor/Information Centre, as they provide all the information about Delamere and I felt very welcomed by the young person serving who told me all about the options, books and websites avaliable. They also sell O.S Guides, cuddlies, kids books and also FANTASTIC wildlife stickers which being a card maker myself, were beautiful and very good value - A must visit for everyone

The cafe is also excellent, they serve delicious cakes and drinks, and a fabulous selection of hot food, great value for money and incredibly friendly service (The Cajun Chicken sandwich is a must!)

The forest is particularly beautiful, and offers tranquil views, plenty of wildlife and spectacular scenery especially around the lake and the Old Pale

Early parking is essential as weekends tend to become very congested with people, although there are options to buy a saver pass to park at Delamere as many times as you like (The Information Centre offer all the infomation)

Dog litter bins are not provided, however it is advisable to be sensible to dispose of your waste, and not tie it on a tree

Delamere forest is must see place in the north west and is also one of my favorite attraction! It offers a great evergreen forest, open grassland and wetlands along with numerous species of wildlife to take photograph, admire and enjoy. If you love mountain biking then this is the ideal place for an easy ride. Besides Mountain there are various sporting events being held like bike races, time trials, strong man and woman plus race for life and more and so on.

I stayed for a week in April at the adjoining caravan site (spacious and pleasant, with very friendly wardens). It's a Camping and Caravanning Club site, so takes tents, too.

I enjoyed walking my dog around the forest. I liked this best at dusk, when most visitors had gone and the smells and sounds of the forest were more evident. The seagulls on Blakemere Moss (lake) make a tremendous racket.

At the south of the park is Delamere railway station, with trains to Chester one way and Manchester the other, and a privately-run station café.

The park's Linmere visitor centre is a short walk from the station, with its own cafeteria, toilets and the Tracs cycle hire and repair shop. Nearby is the Go Ape adventure course, if you like going up and down ropes and along wires.

It's a working forest, so there is tree planting (broadleaved and coniferous) and harvesting going on, which will involve closing off sections on occasion.

A beautiful place for a family walk on a crisp, clear winters day as well as through the summer months. A large variety of well marked walks and pathways suitable for all abilities. Mountain biking routes as well as horsey ones. With a visitor centre and coffee shop for those who need refreshment at the end of it all.

Good cheap entertainment for the family, walking, bikes etc, get out into the countryside and breath the fresh air! My husband takes his mountain bike here regularly and I know the neighbourhood children like to BMX here. Personally I just like the country walk. What could be better than the great outdoors

Been going for years. Lovely day out for dog walking or with the family. Shame they charge for the car park these days, and even more of a shame that people insist on parking on the kerb and block up the road. Can get very busy at weekends so you run into a lot of people. Weekdays are quieter and definatley better.

Bearing in mind, the money which people spend for car parking is put directly back into maintaining forest trails, providing more events, supporting local schools and providing trees for the forest.

As as resident I have seen the fantastic work that the Forestry Commission do and I would encourage you to see for yourself

As a family we absolutely love Delamere Forest. We go there several times a year, in different seasons. The kids absolutely love it. There is something for everybody: easy walks for families with young children to crazy bike trails.

The visitors centre offers the normal useful information and also includes a really nice cafe.

There is also a Go Ape within the forest.

Haven’t been in donkeys but went yesterday. Had a lovely walk round the forest. We did get lost which was slightly concerning, but managed to find our way back out eventually. Nice to walk around on a hot day as the trees shelter you from the sun.

They have loads going on and apparently one of the largest 'Go Apes’.
