Party of five having two courses on 8th June.
Roast Chicken was raw and bloody.
Poorly cooked freezer chips still hard in middle
Steak & ale pie turned out to be full of tomatoes!
Could clearly hear shouting in kitchen when chicken meal was returned, making insulting remarks.
The chicken was then brought back to table claiming it was properly cooked. Was rejected again with even more screaming from kitchen.
Requested an alternative meal instead of inedible chicken, but management insisted on charging for both, despite over £100 bill.
Recommended by The Anglia Region of the Harley Davidson Riders Club, which used the White Lodge for a camping weekend in April this year. From the moment we arrived, Terry & Carol couldn’t do enough for us.
We used all the facilities, drank their beer & spirits, ate their food (brekky was especially good), bopped to the band, camped in their field, even took Terry for his first bike ride to the BSE Easter Egg Run.
We’re booking another weekend on the basis of our satisfaction with the first. This’ll probably be the start of a long relationship.
I have just come onto this page to add my review and was most put out to see the comments that some one has wrote about this pub. me and my family have been to this pub loads of times since the new land lord and landlady have taken over, and can only say to this person that all the times we have been to the pub all the staff have been really polite and that every meal we have had has been well presented and always hot We held a party for 40 people and again we could not fault the service and the politeness shown by all the
staff involved on that day
The owners are always around to make sure every think is okay thoughout the whole of the time we were in the pub.
so I would like to say to other people please give this pub a try, because the food is great the service better than some bigger places and most of all the staff are only to quick to put things right if there is a problem.
I visited The White Lodge for the first time this weekend and cannot recommend it highly enough ! The food was quick and really enjoyable, with very little waiting in-between placing our order and it arriving. We were dining on a Sunday night so it was fairly quiet.
The prices were typical for the area, with an 8oz Sirloin steak costing £12.95 being one of the more expensive. Tables are available in either the main bar area or the separate restaurant, which is classically decorated and perfect for families/functions.
A great family pub perfect for casual occasions or a special event.
If you’re visiting Norfolk and want to eat somewhere with that real old countryside vibe, The White Lodge is a fantastic place to do this. Whether you want to sit at the bar and chat to the locals or enjoy a typical Norfolk-inspired meal, both can be done here!
This pub changes hands relatively often, but the quality of food and service is generally still very good. Their menu caters for children, adults and older people alike, and the outside play area means that there’s something for the whole family to do while they’re visiting.
This pub is located opposite another restaurant/bar, which means that generally it’s not necessary to book in advance. You can usually get a table just by showing up. The food is served quickly and the wait staff in particular are always bright and friendly.
Great for meals, socialising and getting that real Norfolk feeling.
