STOP NEWS!
I have just heard this is going to close down! Last night will be April 3rd 2010. What can we do to stop this? Form a petition? This place will be sorely missed by many and never forgotten.
I was disappointed with Susie's diner. For 4.20pounds I got a small plate with one portion of hot food and some rice. No salad or anything. The service was also rude and abrupt; there is absolutely no excuse for rolling of the eyes and tutting when a customer doesn't have the correct change. I will say that the food was delicious (I made my small portion last as long as possible) but next time I would go to the mosque kitchen next door and get a much larger meal for less without the dramatic service.

I have never been disappointed with food here - the portions and selection are amazing - and very handy if you want your food and you want it quick. Excellent variety and lovely juices.

My partner and I work nearby and when we can't be bothered cooking we head here for some yummy veggie food.
The portions are a good size and as it is served 'canteen style'you don't have to wait to be served. (Great if you want it right now!!)
The serving staff are friendly and there are usually some hippy types playing some music. I have never been disappointed with my meal.
The only gripe I have is that on the last 2 occasions I have been there, there has been a man clearing tables who does not look too 'hygenic' with a dirty dishcloth hanging out his pocket and grubby clothes, I am just glad he is clearing an not serving.
That aside the food is grand and I will go again!!

The best organic, veggie food in town! This place is usually packed every night with a cool mix of students and hairy middle class types. The food is yummy and very filling. IT’s good value too- you can have a huge plate for about a fiver

Located conveniently near george Square campus, this small albeit popular restaurant/cafe has a winning combination of great food, generous portions, good service and reasonable price ( also as a bonus, the 'guilt free’ satisfaction of having eaten a vegetarian and organic meal). Desserts and cakes are to die for! The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff is all smiles and you can linger over a meal and a conversation with a friend.

This is a great cafe/restaurant that specialises in top-class organic vegetarian meals. The value for money is fantastic as well, as the portions are typically very generous while tasting amazing - I recommend trying something with the gingered gravy. It has a very relaxed atmosphere with big windows and chilled out staff. Highly recommended.

Lovely vegetarian cafe that serves good big portions of wholesome meals. If you can’t decide what to have at the counter, you can pick and mix, having 2 half portions of main courses for instance, or a main course and a couple of salads. There is a noticeboard, and often artists exhibit on the walls.

This place is where you will go when you are craving some home cooked food and cant get any! The food is standard home cooked meal types cooked very well. The servings are very generous which most will appreciate, although if some aren’t too hungry it may be worth sharing.

Suzie’s Diner is a vegetarian cafe/restaurant (maybe too basic to be classed as a restaurant?) and has a very loyal clientele as I often see the same people in there. The menu is pretty much always the same and has a few different mains too choose from, all my idea of veggie comfort food. The portions are huge and I rarely have space for pudding - but the cakes do look good! It is quite a basic place and it gets so busy you often end up sharing a corner of your table with someone else. It’s a great choice for a quick and healthy meal at a low cost.

Susie’s serves exclusively vegetarian food. The atmosphere and ordering procedure is a little too student to make the night of it… more “canteen” than “restaurant”. However, the food is always great and there are plenty of pubs around for after.

Susie’s Diner is somewhere to go when you’ve indulged beyond the pale and your body is suffering physical guilt and demanding some healthy comfort. Generous portions of delicious vegetarian fare are the order of the day. They have a system where you can choose various configurations of salads, quiches and hot dishes for set prices in a canteen-esque set up. Prices are generally around £3-£7.
The mix ‘n’ match crockery together with the self-service food and drink give Susie’s a very informal feeling and the casual décor of red painted walls, unvarnished tables and wooden benches all contribute to the sense of being at the village refectory.
Feel-good food in a family friendly diner devoid of any pretension. Lovely.

Who would you send the petition to?
I like the food there, I'd go more often if the prices were as low as you'd expect from a place as grungy as that.
Yea. Too bad it's closed down now. Grrr.
