Love this place. Excellent for a cheap, yet filling snack while in town. One burrito will do for two. They will even cut it in half for you.

Visited with friends who are regulars and love it. Have to say was very underwhelmed. I love Mexican food and have been eating it for three decades. I find it strange that there is so much positive feedback here as I found my Chicken Burrito with hot sauce amazingly bland. I only ate half of it, took the other half home (they come wrapped in foil), but never ate the other half.

Fast fresh Mexican food.
Serving authentic California Mexican cuisine, with burritos at the heart of the menu.
Made to order, bringing together the finest ingredients including steak, pork, chicken or vegetarian fillings, complemented with rice, beans, salsa, sour cream and cheese.
Enjoy with a cold beer before heading to a bar, or fill up at lunch time while out shopping or sightseeing.

As a rule The Mission has some of the best Mexican food I've had in the UK, but some things have changed since previous reviews. I just want to make clear that I love the place and am so glad there is a Chipotle-like option in Oxford before I lay into it, because my disappointment comes from my affection.
Firstly, size. I don't have hard evidence, but I am almost certain that the burritos have got smaller and I am not the only one to have noticed that they seem to be stuffing less into them. Secondly, the burritos are no longer mega-cheap, as in under a fiver. They now range from £5-6 as a base and then you pay extra depending on the meat, and for guacamole or cheese. It's still fairly good value, but they do seem to be victims of their own success. With a drink it now comes to more like £7-8, which is not quite the 'cheap eat' it once was. Whereas it used to be about the same price as the awful Oxford kebab vans and spectacularly higher quality, it is now more like a cheap alternative to a budget sit-down restaurant. Thirdly, I recently had a burrito there which was dripping with oil, and ended up having to use four or five napkins to soak it up. Hopefully this was a one-off. Of course the service is pretty charmless, but unlike some other places in Oxford it's actually quick and efficient, which is really all that matters!

A pretty good burrito/taco joint, good range of fillings and sauces and the portions are hearty. Personally i'd like a bigger range of mexican food, like rice dishes, but as a takeaway this is a good late-night stop. Prices are mostly around the £5 region

If you are from the US, and you miss Chipotle, this is your best bet in the UK! It's not quite as good as Chipotle--no lime chips! But, the food is great, and it's fresh and mexican! Good Mexican in the UK is hard to find, so enjoy!

Hands down, the best Mexican place I've ever found. I have moved away from oxford and I severely miss this place. The burritos are just amazingly good.
It's not the type of place you go for a nice long ambient meal with a glass of wine etc, it's most certainly 'fast food' but the quality of the food is so much better than what you would normally consider something from this category.
It's not too expensive, and you get a lot for your money. In the two years I spent in Oxford, there wasn't one time where I ventured in to the city and went anywhere but this place for lunch or dinner. It's the first choice every single time.
I highly recommend the steak fajita burrito with guacamole, cheese and chipotle salsa!

The Mission - quick, reasonable, AWESOME burritos. If you're after good food in a hurry, I can't think of a better place to go. The fact that they now have 2 branches and they are both always packed is a testament to the consistent quality of the food here. Highly recommended.

One of the common problems of an evening out - especially in a smaller city like Oxford - has been finding a quick dinner. Whilst at lunch-time sandwich shops abound, come around 6:00pm all that’s left are the Kebab vans slowly awakening from their diurnal slumber and the cornmarket trio of grease-merchants (KFC, Burger King and McDonald’s).
And this is when the Mission becomes a wonderful, wonderful place to be after a long day at work or in the library. The food is cheap, hot, plentiful and delicious.
On offer are burritos with a range of fillings - peppers, onions, chicken, steak, pork and black / pinto beans. There’s also sour cream, limes, cheese and what is reputedly excellent Guacamole (My lady is something of a pedant for good guacamole and has more experience than I in such matters. I trust her judgement on these things.).
Each of these are extremely tasty together, but the salsas are what really bring them alive. With three salsas of varying heat, the hottest of which doesn’t sacrifice flavour for spice. Which is something of a rare and extremely pleasing phenomena for me. A mixture of the three can create some interesting results!
The service is blindingly fast - you can be out the door in about 10 minutes even if there’s a cue out onto the street! The staff are all lovely as well, so even though things are extremely quick it doesn’t have the same depressingly frantic atmosphere of other 'fast-food’ places.
The true mark of the Mission’s brilliance is that despite having a relatively simple menu, the food never becomes monotonous. If anything, it gets better each time and’ll always have you coming back again. And again. And again.

I absolutely love the Mission. My boyfriend has to stop me from eating there every night. Amazing, fresh food, fantastic guacamole, and best of all for me, you can pick and choose whatever options you want in it. I’m a vegan so that makes my life ten times easier, and my gluten-intolerant friend also loves that they indugle our pickiness so well!

Each time I visit the Mission, it just seems to get better and better. The Mission claim to be inspired by the burritos on Mission Street in San Francisco… having moved to Oxford from the San Francsico Bay Area, I’ve been monitoring their progress. Their burritos have definitely improved, and they’re really developing their own style -- which at the end of the day is what makes a burrito place special.

The Mission is a great place to eat if you’re looking for a quick, hot, filling, delicious meal. I’ve eaten here a few times while out shopping or hanging about the city centre. You can be healthy if you want to, but you can also be naughty. Whatever you choose, you know you’ll leave there stuffed (portions are huge), with some money still left in your pocket.
