This restaurant is really nice. The food is tasty although it's veery different from British. If you like Polish cuisine or you want to try it, that's the right place for you!
The staff is helpful and friendly but you have to wait a bit for your food to be served.
The location is good and I really enjoy going there. Their desserts are amazing and delicious especially the rasberry souffle :)

Great place -- it's a really interesting space, and they utilize it very well,  The roast partridge was really tasty, and they had a great selection of appetizers as well.  Our waiter was very professional and also humorous at times.

Review of Malina from 15 June 2012
I dined at Malina on June 10, 2012.  I had traveled down to London from Scotland on that day and was very much looking forward to my dinner at Malina.
I was a bit stressed out from the long train  journey and early start, and I was about 15 minutes late for my reservation.  When I arrived at the restaurant I was immediately seated by Beata, one of the owners.  She gave me a menu and took my drink order right away.  I immediately began to relax in the homey, cheerful dining room.
I was very impressed with the menu of Malina.  I'm a vegetarian, and at times it can be difficult to find a place which has more than a couple of potions for vegetarians, but Malina's menu has plenty of things.  I actually had trouble deciding on just a couple so dishes!
I finally made a decision, while munching on the delicious bread.  It is served with a bacon spread, but they will bring butter for vegetarians no bother.  I'll admit to a certain weakness when it comes to bacon, however, so I tasted it...lovely, salty and delicious.
My first course arrived very quickly-a very tasty clear beetroot soup with beautiful mushroom dumplings.  The soup was very hot, and perfectly seasoned.  There was no dill or cream in this soup--this is a lighter summer version of the heavier traditional borscht.
For my second course, I opted for a small portion of wild mushroom pierogi.  The 5  pierogi were simply presented, with only a simple drizzle of oil, and some lightly caramelized onions.  The filling was amazing-the mushrooms still had lots of texture and bite.  Again there was very little embellishment, just the simple true flavor of the mushroom coming through with the smooth sweetness of the onions to set it off beautifully.  The dough was light, thin and perfectly cooked.
My third course, potato pancakes, was again very simply presented, and absolutely delicious.  The 3 pancakes were beautifully browned, and very thin and crispy on the edges. The middle was thicker, and less crispy, but perfectly cooked through.  Sometimes potato pancakes can be greasy or a bit heavy, but these were light and beautifully potatoey, without a greasy mouthfeel or taste of oil.  The pancakes are available with mushroom sauce, or apple sauce and sour cream.  I was heartily tempted to have mushrooms again, but opted for the apple sauce and sour cream.  Perfection.
For dessert, I ordered a Malina souffle which was raspberries cooked in a sweetened egg yolk.  This was a beautiful dish.  It wasn't as sweet as I thought it would be, and had a very eggy, omelet-like flavour, but was studded with beautifully juicy raspberries throughout.  It was a perfectly light finish to my meal.  Of course, I had to have one more thing, so I ordered a coffee with honey vodka (Krupnik).  it was delicious.
And I haven't even mentioned the vodkas I drank throughout the evening...Zubrowka to start, and after dinner I had a beautiful house-made cherry vodka,  a lemon-coffee vodka, again made in house, which was possibly the most interesting (deliciously so!) drink I have ever had, and at the end of the meal, I was presented with a complimentary shot of house-made raspberry vodka.  A perfect end to a perfect meal.
I lingered over my coffee, chatting to Beata and Jola, and I was surprised to find after I had left the restaurant that I had been there for over two hours.
As it was a Sunday during half-term, the restaurant was quiet.   I got efficient, attentive and very fast service.  I am sure, however, that no matter how busy they are, Jola and Beata offer the same friendly, personal service to each and every person who comes to their restaurant.
These two lovely ladies have created a real gem of a restaurant, and I will most definitely return.
Do yourself a favor and book a table at Malina immediately.  You'll be glad you did.

In a single lifetime few restaurants get it right, right, right on all scores!  Malina is a restaurant serving up authentic Polish and Eastern european fare that did just that last night.

Cannot wait to go back to try more of the yumminess off the menu.  Service from Beata was simply faultless and you're guaranteed to leave full and without feeling your wallet's been attacked.

This wonderful restaurant really deserves to be 100% full - even in midweek ... so get down there with some great friends.  I see they're open on Saturday's from 12 and am already imagining a long and lazy lunch with the papers and some excellent food, vodka and raspberry liqueur.  Yummmmmmm.

Well unlike the other reviewer, I am not Polish. But I am local, and as a local, I am delighted to have this unpretentiously beautiful place to hand.

The food was delicious, the staff adorable, the decor spot on.

Brilliant value, will be going back. OFTEN!

Review of Malina from 15 April 2011

The place is charming. Since I am Polish, I actually know how the food should taste like, and what is more important - how important for it is the seasoning. Perfect grilled vegetables could probably not be impressing, if not served with spices which underline the tastes. And as for eating with your eyes, lovely combination of colours and textures. Selection of dumplings blown me away (my mum only makes two kinds, but in Malina you can try them even with feta and spinach, mmm).
Service was welcoming - friendly, but not too overbearing! We had a little raspberry shots as well (in polish malina means rasberry), and drunk some alcohol with gold flakes (!) which absolutely taken my friends (it is called Gdanska, pronunce as C-D-EA-N-S-C-EA ;), you need to try it!), who chose to go for more vodka tasting instead of traditional espresso. They have a little bar with all the drinks laid out, and it seemed so inviting that we wanted to try everything.

Most of all the place look very causy, with white plates and rasberry decor, just ideal for friends gathering. Little candle lights and atmospheric shadows, we sat there for hours, and they seemed to enjoy us being there, but seemed natural after the generous portions of food for alright prices. Mmm...
