I moved my kittens here from Braid vets, because I had some misgivings about that practice. (Nothing serious; they just seemed a bit money-oriented for my liking. Their neutering costs, for example, are way above average - the most expensive I have seen anywhere). Since Abercorn is also convenient to my location, and they have positive reviews and better prices, I made the switch. I'm so glad I did!

The receptionist was so lovely and helpful and Anna, the vet, was terrific. She seems genuinely to love animals and was very warm towards my cats, while still being professional. She really took her time with them; I was very impressed with her thoroughness and with how carefully she seemed to listen to my concerns/general pet owner rambling etc! The lads had their neutering done that day and they came out surprisingly happy, though probably not as happy as me - I absolutely wouldn't hesitate to recommend this vet. Based on my own experience, you get a fantastic level of service and care.

I thoroughly recommend this vet , my dog was a nightmare at the vet before we came here. Full of anxiety and aggressive if handled etc. The vets here were patient , kind and gentle with him , and now he gets excited and can’t get through the door fast enough! We had to go almost every other day recently and they were happy to see him , careful and thorough every time.
I reckon they are very reasonable too , I have paid double what I pay here at other Edinburgh vets.

I have used this practice for many years. I have found the team friendly helpful and compassionate. I am constantly surprised by the depth of personal interest they take in my pet.
They have quite literally brought her back from deaths door after a pretty horrific illness. Even when I had given up and was prepared to have her put to sleep the vets battled on and my 11 year old dog is behaving like a puppy again.

I registered my dog with Abercorn veterinary clinics approximately 3 years. I was dissatisfied with the verterinary practice where I had been attending and a friend recommended Abercorn vets.

I have to say that Vet Victor Bates and his team are excellent - totally committed to wanting the best outcome for your pet with a measured and thorough approach. I've never experienced a problem getting an appointment based on their flexible opening hours across 3 clinics. When you do get an appointment, you are never rushed and the approach is very 'animal-centred' as opposed to 'clinical' and 'business like'.

Mr Bates goes the extra mile in terms of his approach and willingness to help and reassure clients. I give this practice top marks all round.

BO'H and dog Jessie.

This is a good vet and my local one you can almost always be seen even if they are fully booked they will always try to accommodate a worried owner. Friendly and considerate they understand the bond that some owners have with there pets.

On more than a few times have be worried about a non existent problem and depending on who you see you may not always be charged for that.

Clean and help full and very good with smaller animals the after care is also top standard.

They have helped so many of my pets when the time came for my 19 year old dog to be put to sleep they came to the house so not to cause the old girl any further stress.

Needless to say the vets is never a good place to visit but when you do the staff are understanding helpful and comforting. They offer all the options for your sick critter as well as giving there opinion but they give you the choice, and at the end of the day that makes all the difference.
