I've been to Jade Palace a few times when I've been up in Newcastle and the staff have been lovely every time. I normally get chicken balls in sweet and sour sauce which I order at most Chinese takeaways I eat from and Jade Palace do one of the best versions I've tasted.

The prices are reasonable and they tend to provide free prawn crackers. Jade Palace is a takeaway, not a restaurant, and you can collect food or they deliver. One of the best Chinese places I've eaten at.
