Nice, but the one in Wigston called Sweet Sensations is better and they sell Wonka Bars, Ever lasting Gobstoppers which are wicked.

To be fair only ever been here once or twice but so cute. I should take my nephew here for a treat on a saturday. Like something from harry potter, good to see independent shops still going in leicester.

This place is exactly what you’d expect it to be like. It's difficult to find a place like this with a huge selection of proper sweets in bag. Great fun.

This is a really nice sweet shop. Something out of Willy Wonker ! Its a classic. You can find all sweets here the traditional, boiled and anyother you can think of. My favorites the bons bons they sell all kinds. Amazing. The shops always packed with kids and adults. The price is fairly mid range, not like department stores. A nice novelty shop to go to.

It’s like stepping back into the past. You will be hard pressed to find any traditional English or even exotic sweet they don’t stock. It makes a delightful side trip to a visit to Leicester Market.

This shop takes you back to your childhood - rememeber when you could go into your local newsagents and they’d have those big glass bottles lined up on a shelf? I used to take ages choosing what i wanted a 1/4 pound of…well, now at this sweet shop that is multiplied by 100! You go in the shop and your senses are assualted by a range of colours, all great smelling and even better tasting! It will take you forever to choose what you want but all your favs will be there. I’m a traditionalist and go for the cola cubes and lemon sherbets everytime!

I always come here when I’m in Leicester to get not only old fashioned sweets but also to get sweets as they should be. The quality of sweet here is much greater than you will find in the newsagent or in the supermarket.
Proper midget gems!

Ye Olde Sweet Shoppe is not so much a window back to my childhood (I’m a bit to young to have been around when these were common) but it does certainly harken back to the more traditional sweet and confenctionary stores that used to be up and down England not so many moons ago (at least that’s what my parents tell me).
If you are a serious chocolate and sweet aficionado like myself, this place is a God-send. Its shelves are stacked to the heavens with different tubs of every conceivable sweet, from gobstoppers, to flying saucers to hard boiled sweets of every persuasion. Prices are fairly reasonable, considering that often shops like this tend to be on the pricey side because of the novelty factor. Prices are fair here and you don’t pay much more than you would from the market or Woolworths, the difference is here you have sweets that you just can’t get from other shops, which more than makes up for any slight price increases you pay.
If you have children or have a serious sweet tooth, you must visit this place! Furthermore, there is not another old-style sweet specialist in Leicester, so make sure you get your fix from hre.

“Can I have a quarter of sherbert lemons please?”
This is a great place to go for a treat. We walk past this shop every time we go to Leicester becuase of where we park, and it is impossible to pass without going in.
They have loads of different types of sweets in the old jars and it takes you back to when you were a kid.
They also have all the usual standard chocolate bars you’ll find anywhere which is usually what the kids want but with the selection of sweets on offer for the more discerning 'sweetie’ it’s worth going in.
The only down sides of this lovely little place are
a)it’s run by younger people rather than an old lady like in your youth, and
b)you can easily get carried away and order quarters of all your favourites and make your tummy (and wallet) very sick.
Well worth your pocket money.

The name pretty much says it all - from your gobstoppers to your humbugs to your flying saucers, they stock it and will wrap it up in a paper bag with a little twist, just like they used to do. They also stock Jelly Belly beans, which is a major plus in my book. And you can even go mad and buy the whole jar, if you really can’t get enough of your favourite sweeties. One warning though - it’s all horribly addictive, and you’ll soon be coming back time and again for your fizzy cola bottle fix….

Yea !!! old fashined sweeties in old fashioned sweetie jars .
Can you remember cola cubes & mint humbugs ? Well this is where they still sell then - by the gram (was going to say by the ounce, but now they’ve had to go metric !!).
What an aladins cave of all your childhood memories.

Old school sweat shop. Lovely. Like when I was child. Recommended. My children love going there even though they don;t recognised some of the candy. Convenient location near the more affluent area of town. Always got people browsing in. Good prices.

Hehe, this place is cool!!! It’s name is highly appropriate as it reminds you of proper olde sweet shops from your youth, with shelves to the ceiling and lots of lovely jars of sweets to buy by the 100g - and still by the quarter too!! They also have a wide range of other candied delights, lovely small boxes of Belgian chocs for low, low prices for example.
Furthermore, and not everyone knows this, if you need them they are one of the few places in that particular bit of the city that sells fags, and not just the chocolate ones.
You’re sure of a warm welcome from the friendly propriotors of this oft forgot City Centre gem!

The sweet shop which is the best one I’ve ever been in is in Hinckley on Castle St. It’s beautiful and victorian and sells every sweet you can think of – including wonka bars, gobstoppers and loads of other wonka sweets. It’s fab!!!!
