The ambiance is nice and the crowd were lively. It's what you'd except from a decent pub.
It was a nice sunny day yesterday but for some inexplicable reason the garden was closed and for that I'm docking a star.
I really enjoyed this wee pub. The interior and ambiance inside was more akin to a classy and clean neighbourhood bar rather than a busy city meeting point which is good. The garden in the back was very nice too, perfect for those who smoke. The food on offer also looked very, very nice. Kind of gastro / French pub fare which means it’s rich/ creamy / meaty, sadly the kind of food my partner doesn’t like so I we went elsewhere. Pigs cheeks are not to everyones taste I suppose..

Lovely little pub, was concerned that it would be a bit crowded but we got a table without much difficulty on a Wednesday evening.
Nice quirky decor, unpretentious staff, cost less for a round than you would expect in Notting Hill and had a great buzzy atmosphere (whilst still being able to hear the person you are talking to) Good pub for an afterwork drink with friends.

What a gorgeous place to stop by and have a beer and Fish´n Chips! The beer batter is perfect, the mushy peas are the best I ever had and the atmosphere is just great! Never had better F´n´C in London!!

Nice pub. Friendly staff and interesting decor. I loved the big mirrors they make the place look very spacious. The secret garden is indeed nice.
Good drinks.
I've also had a coffee once, which was simply disgsting. Had a sip and then returned it to the counter asking for a redound which I was given. Avoid the coffee.
Other than that the place is good.

I was here last Friday night with Chewy and JJ.
I really liked it, the decor is really interesting, the people in there were friendly, the bar staff were pretty cool but also helpful and funny.
Unfortunately we got there too late to use the secret garden I have been reading about above but I need to go back to try it.
And - whoever is in charge of the music policy has impeccable taste.

This is perfectly fine little pub with a useful secret garden that, despite signs, people forget about. My biggest criticism is that there never seems to be a table, but I suppose that means it's popular. You can reserve a table which helps too.

Nice little pub in Notting Hill. Cosy, quirky, and friendly. The interior design - chandeliers, mirrors, etc - is just over-the-top enough to make it really interesting without being annoying. Their wine list is also too good to have been accosted by my already-inebriated self.
There’s a large outdoor garden area for warm weather and for smokers who don’t want to step out onto the busy pavement.
And what a great name, eh? No boring Red Lion or Victoria here.

Great pub with a nice vibe especially out the back in summer.
Has a good wine list and is a nice place to meet friends after work.
Usually had a DJ on Carnival day too.

Barely two minutes walk from Notting Hill Gate, This is a beautiful little boutique pub on the corner of Portobello Road. I guess it’s the decor that makes the place, think lampshades, designer wallpaper and plenty of elevated mirrors. Even the pillars are gilded. I got quite excited to see Kirin beer on tap, and there were a number of decent bottled belgian beers in the fridge too, not forgetting the wonderful Italian lager Morretti.
This is definitely a good place for smokers/those that have friends what smoke; the archietecture of the secret garden (which sadly closes at 930pm) allow for some partial covering, which with the timed halogen lights combines to give a atsmosphere sufficiently snug that even the health fascists will sit outside with you! All in all, a tidy vibe.
