Review of The Hideaway from 7 February 2012

The hideaway bar was a fanstic little bar on Kingston road just opposite the bigger (and more commercial) White Hart pub, unfortunately it has recently changed it’s name to Three ways, and although offering very nice food and service, it’s lost the mysterious and inviting atmosphere that the Hideaway induced.

Review of The Hideaway from 17 November 2008

A quirky little bar situated a short walk from Merton Park tram stop that offers an array of beers from around the world with the added feeling of really being off the beaten track
The staff are friendly and the Sunday roasts are absolutely top draw, with a choice of all the usuals (beef, pork, chicken, lamb) served very promptly on a plate about ready to overflow with mouth-watering meat, veg, yorkshire puds, roast potatoes, mash, parsnips, gravy, the lot!! There is a screen up showing the footie, but the bar really isn’t about that at all, more the laid back sofa’s and array of board games available to play at your leisure.

This is a bar and restaurant with a great chilled out atmosphere. They serve a wide selection of beers from around the world. The food is good quality and reasonably priced; with a restaurant and bar menu. They have a few sofas and so is a good place to while away a lazy sunday afternoon.

Review of The Hideaway from 7 August 2008

This is my favourite bar in Wimbledon. As you might tell by the name it’s not the sort of place that you stumble across and was recommended to us by someone who lives in the area. The couple who run it are really friendly, Sylvia does front of house and Iain runs a top restaurant at the back. Has a great selection of bottle beers, and some good draft lagers as well.

It’s like stepping into a cosy Belgian bar, and eating your moules frites and quaffing back the beer you soon forget that you 're sat just off the Kingston Rd. Warning - you may end up losing a few weekends in here if you’re not careful. ..and it’s got a late licence

The only down side is that they do occasionaly rent it out for private functions, which is well annoying when you’ve got your heart set on a nice quiet night in the hideaway.

Review of The Hideaway from 16 May 2008

Just simply this is a great bar. It does some great beers and the food is amzing and it shows the footy so i am happy. The sunday roast is definatly the best in the area (you get a massive Yorkshire pud) and great value for money at under £9 and they serve it untill 9pm on saturday and sunday. definatly take my advice and get down and have a few pints and try out a roast dinner its amazing

Review of The Hideaway from 28 October 2007

This is one of my favourite places in the World. You will always get a hello on entry and has comfy bar seats in the front bar and a lovely quiet restuarant at the back. The food is unreal, no seriously it is very, very good. I havent had anything to eat here I did not like here and I intend to have a Sunday Roast here each week as it is better than one I could make myself or made by my own mother.

They have Sports channels in the front bar and the one shop size unit make it very tiny and atmospheric for sport watching and whilst that might be a downside for some, it is not busy and the friendly and excellent bar staff will take your card and let you run a tab which means the relaxed vibe is kept and you can read your book/newspaper or go online with their internet access as a wi-fi hot spot.

You will not be disspointed by the choice of drinks here too...coffee and tea better than any pub and to cafe standard, whilst the foreign beer range is huge. Belgien, Scottish, French, Russian, American to name but a few you will find all in bottles with Irish Harp Lager, Czech Staropramen, Scottish McEwans, Gunniess and more on draught. Whilst I can reccmonded everything on the cocktail list, after drinking all 12 one night, although I can't reccomend copying my actions as I was quite ill the following day, but at two for one, it was a great Friday night!

I have taken a few few friends her and they all loved it. I held a surprise Wedding Annivarsary party for my parents here and my family and their friends loved it, so why don't you come down to Wimbledon one night or on a weekend day and take the 163, 164 bus or the tram from the station to nearby Merton Park for a hearty meal and a drink or two, I am sure you will love it too.
