Hi,I came back second time to REMIX,to do my roots and Brazilian keratin treatment. And this time I decided to try the offer what they gave it to me last time for Gelish manicure and pedicure for 29,67£.Over all the hair was excellent as usual, but most adorable was when I saw my feet done as I never had before(usually,I have a problem with my feet,my nails are ingrowing and its very hard to treat them.)I was in surprise that I had huge choice of colours as well.
I had Gelish manicure in another salon before but lasted for a week, compare to this time in Remix, lasted more then 3 weeks,I was amassed from the service.
I highly recommend to try the salon and especially the nails, the nail technician is amazing.

I've never left a review before, but after visiting Remix yesterday I want to share.
I was absolutely blown away :) The staff were courteous, very friendly, and attentive whilst managing a power blackout, electricians, and the phone ringing off the hook as another Groupon offer had just gone live that day.
I was a little nervous about having lowlights put in as I don't usually colour my hair, and was worried it would dry out or look "streaky". Two staff members took great care matching the colour to the natural sun-lightened colour of my ends, and the hairdresser weaved it through very finely - it looks just wonderful, and is very soft to touch (not dry at all, and you can't tell that I've had it dyed - it just looks sunlightened, as I wanted it to).
The cut is perfect also. She took such care shaping the layers and fringe around my face. I cannot thank her enough!
Reading the only negative reviews (as everyone else seems, like me, to have loved Remix!), I think perhaps that Groupon clients do not realise that Groupon take 50%, leaving the salon with very little to provide a service with. I would have expected to pay around £120 for the half head of lowlights I had done in a London salon, and £70 for the cut. I therefore tipped £20, and would have given more if I had it (I've been off work after an operation, which is the only reason why I looked on Groupon in the first place).
Wonderful staff, wonderful service, excellent quality products (my hair is soft, not at all dry, so the colour certainly was not cheap), and it is possibly the cleanest salon I have ever visited.
I cannot thank Remix enough, and will certainly be returning.
Megan Jane

They cut my mum's hair and styled it nicely - but when she washed it the next day and dried it herself, she found they hadn't even trimmed off her split ends!

Are you friends with the owners or something?! Seems like we are talking about two completely different salons. I can only speak about the experience my mum had, which was really bad. Glad you had a better time of it!

I must say that having visited Remix yesterday, I am very surprised at this review. It was my first visit there, and I was overwhelmed with how lovely all the staff were, how much care they took, and managed themselves with grace through a power blackout, electricians, and the phone ringing off the hook. The cut and colour I had done are wonderful, and Gel nails usually last weeks. I do wonder if this is perhaps not a real customer making such rude remarks, but a rival salon in the area? All the regular customers who came into the salon yesterday appeared to know the staff well, and were very smiley and chatty, and all extremely pleased with the service they received. I would suggest others take this review with a grain of salt.

Hi MeganJane, I’m pleased you had a good experience. I’m a bit insulted that you think I am a rival salon?! I was v upset with the treatment my mother received, as it was a Christmas present that essentially went wrong. You’re right, gel nails are supposed to last for weeks – hers lasted about four days before they started to chip. Then she went back so they could re-do them and the same thing happened again. That’s why I gave this place a negative review.
The whole point of forums like this is to give honest feedback – businesses can then choose to either take it on board or ignore it. it’s great that Remix seems to have taken my feedback on board and upped its game. No business can offer a perfect service all the time – maybe my mum was just unlucky. I still wouldn’t risk going back, though!

Having looked everywhere in London for a salon that can emulate the amazing Hong Kong BB, I gave Remix a go. I phoned them up on the off chance and was told that even though I didnt have a groupon voucher, they would do it that day for me at £59. I arrived and nothing was mentioned about my hair being quite long (although it is quite fine). The guy even said I could also have it cut for a total price of £75. I was happy with this. I was also given a quick consultation from the manager about not to expect miracles, how everyones hair reacts differently, and how it wont straighten your hair, just smoothes it, etc.
The girl who applied the product didnt interract with me much but was friendly enough. Its by no means a luxury treatment or good experience salon however I really dont mind if the treatment does the job!
The treatment took nearly 2.5 hours in total and was done exactly how I remembered the Hong Kong ones to be done. My hair was left exactly how it should have been: straightened to perfection, smooth and shiny. It also feels like it is coated in a fruity smelling product. Post treatment, it definitely looks a little lank until washed after three days but you have to just bear this...
I have now washed my hair for the first time and it feels really good and was a dream to blowdry. It has held well and no frizz so far. I am so pleased to have found this salon - its cheap and they know what they are doing with brazilian blowdrys.
With regard to some of the negative comments posted here, I really think that people should not expect miracles. You wont come out with entirely different hair, just your hair on a really really good day. If you have frizzy, it will stop it. And of course all hair reacts differently. Also, in relation to the comments about additional bump ups on the price, the product is v.expensive and if you have thick or long hair it may naturally cost more - but - even with a £30 bump up cost, it is still really cheap compared to most salons out there and most importantly, it actually works.
Good luck!

Remix in West Hampstead is the best hairdressing salon I have ever experienced.
Their team of stylists are hellbent on making sure that you exit looking a million dollars! I had previously checked out a number of salons in north London looking to try out the new Brazilian Keratin treatment. I am mixed race with very afro-type hair. I abhorr the use of chemicals and have learned from bitter experience that to use such is committing hair suicide.
I can only commend Nick, Snr Stylist, who really spent valuable time explaining the merits of their B Keratin treatments and how to manage the hair afterwards. The fact that Remix uses non- formaldahide formula and that they are wholistic in their approach towards hair care was very attractive to me. It is important that clients are advised from the outset (especially those with non-caucasian hair) that there are no guarantees as to how straight the hair will be after one treatment as everybody’s hair is unique. I went for it with the mind that even if I didnt get a sleek look with my first treatment then at least I would have had a deep conditioning treatment leaving me with easier to manage hair. Lucky me, as well as that benefit my hair looked and behaved beautifully sleek. I followed up with another B Keratin treatment a few weeks on and my hair is now the most beautiful it has ever been: straight, shiny, healthy and stable in those qualities.
I only have praise and gratitude that such a salon exists. I completely trust the advice given to me for the upkeep of my locks and it is a pleasure to be in the company of a friendly and professional team who put the satisfaction of their clients before anything else.

I’ve only just got my hair done so cant comment on the longterm results… but i thought id write quick review as i was pleasantly pleased with the experience. i thought they would charge extra for length/thickness but they didnt. they were quite clear and straightforward, looked at my hair and said that unless i cut a few inches off they would have to charge extra for the straightening treatment. i opted for the few inches off as my hair needed it anyway!! they say they only trim when they explain the treatment when you arrive, not restyle or cut even if uv paid for a cut with the groupon voucher, but they did do a basic cut for me and didnt charge extra. not a new style but that wasnt what i wanted anyway.
the staff were warm, not overtalkative, great really. so a positive experience!

I have had Brazilian keratin treatment with Groupon voucher at Remix Salon. The service was really great and the treatment is the best one I have done in London. After 3 mounts my hair still perfect very smooth and shiny. The price is very good only I just pay only £30 because my hair was longer than the original deal. They make me feel like a very special person. With no doubt I will be back. Highly recommended!

I bought a voucher from Groupon to have a keratin treatment on my hair done at Remix. I’ve bought the equivalent at several salons around London (all slightly cheaper, I must add) previously. All vouchers, including the Remix one, have stated that customers with very long or very thick hair will be asked to pay a surcharge due to extra product being needed, but not once, until yesterday, had I ever been told that my hair was too long or thick.
Remix was another matter though – my hair doesn’t even reach my shoulder blades, but I was informed that because my hair is coloured and therefore dry, I would have to pay an additional £30. Considering the treatment is designed to tame dry or damaged hair, I find it very surprising that they’d penalise customers in this position…
The treatment itself was fine and I was well looked after by a very nice lady who has done a good job, but I do object to having to fork out additional money. I will not be returning to this salon and I urge anyone considering the Groupon voucher to only do so if they have a crew cut!

Terrible place. Had a groupon, had to cancel due to extreme circumstances and they didnt even bother to call back despite me asking them to. Happy to take your money but the lack of service is just plain rude. I lost £65 because they can’t be bothered to pick up the phone

Thank you so much for my lovely hair, I didn`t expect that my hair is going to look that great. I had Brazilian keratin treatment and the result is absolutely amazing. My hair is a lot more softer and shinier then before. The price was good and the stuff were very friendly. Thank you again!!!

To be honest, these were the most rude and afwul people I have ever met. I went there for a brazilian blow out which I had purchased via Groupon. the problem is that when you've bought something at Groupon and you don't like what you see, there's no way back. You've already paid for the service. I came in and my stylist was late, while I made it very clear I had a plane to catch. With one look at my hear they decided my hear was too thick and long and that I had to pay 40 pounds extra. I get that this was in the terms and conditions but it still wasn't a nice surprise, to be honest.
When the owner saw that I wasn't too pleased with the 40 pounds extra charge he literally told the stylist not to touch my hair untill I decided what i wanted. This he said in the most obnoxious way. The brazillian blowout substance was mixed out of sight which makes me doubt whether they have put the actual product in my hair. I still don't know. To be fair, when I left the shop my hair looked absolutely beautiful and soft.
When I was about to leave I did not buy any of the products, which made them hate me even more. But because I got on a plane I obviously could not take a liter bottle shampoo in my hand luggage. Something the owner obviously didn't understand.
While they were doing my hair I heard the phone ring several times but it wasn't answered. At some point a lady came walking in, but one of the guys told her she was late. She said that she had called but no one had answered. The guy said that they did not hear the phone and that she would be charged for the 15 minutes. only 10 second after they told her that her hair was too thick and long as well and she had to pay another 40 pounds and they told her that they would not be able to do the entire treatment as she was late.
I will NEVER go back to this salon again.

Unfortunately I have to agree with AFROxFLO – I just came back from Remix and had an awful experience. Exactly the same – I got there, had paid extra money for a cut but when I arrived was told it was limited to an inch trim and nothing more. They told me that the reason they had to charge me 30 pounds was more was because they needed to use more product which is expensive. I asked them for scissors so I could trim my hair myself so it would be within their limit. I was told that they “do not lend out their 600 pound scissors”. I ended up going next door borrowing scissors and cut 2 inches of hair off myself at which point they trimmed and did my hair. A really disappointing unpleasant unexperience.
