Ice Cream Union

Few months ago I tried for first time their ice cream. Lovely guys gave me a sample. Since this moment I am in love with this ice cream. It's delicious, it makes you fly, it's just.... I feel I can't find words to explain the feeling. If you have never tried this ice cream this might be count as one of you biggest mistakes ever!

I've been bad not writing my review of Ice Cream Union until now, because it was way back in May that they were generous enough to deliver us a selection of delicious samples. And while I might never have heard of them before, after nattering to the charming chap that brought them, my Miss Marple-style sleuthing skills soon uncovered that Ice Cream Union supply a long list of renowned restaurants, who for the most part usually pass it off as their own. So even though you may not know about Ice Cream Union, you might have swooned over their ice-creams and sorbets before, without even knowing that it was from them at the time.

With flavours including an amazing Dulce de Leche, lavender honey, green tea, banana or cinnamon (as well as all the usual classics from chocolate to raspberry ripple), there's something on menu for everyone, and they do home deliveries within London too. Want a lighter taste? Try the gin and tonic or coconut sorbet instead.

You may not be au fait with these fellas, but they may well already be supplying much of the sorbet and ice cream that you're knocking back as they have a long list of renown, high profile clients.

What they dropped off to us would stand up against anything I've had here, or on my numerous trips to Rome (did I mention that my wife is Italian?). The ingredients are all fresh, there are no nasty or unappealing addditives and in fact all the flavours are decided upon and then concocted to that delicious end from the outset - rather than added to a base later on in the process.

I have more than likely already overdone it on the mango sorbet and pistachio ice cream, but am still going in for more....
