To be honest I wouldn't rush back, really not a whole lot to do. I wanted to go see the standing stones at Duddo but the directions on the local guide were completely wrong and had us a good 5 miles away from the right place. Lots of average tearooms made up half of the things to see and the heritage trail was just a joke.

I will say the Red lion pub was a nice place with decent food, the only part of the place i could recommend.

I just love this place, so much to do and any excuse to have a light lunch at The Lavender Tearooms is a must. Many fabulous walks and lots of wildlife to see. Will go back again, and again. beautiful in the sunshine and if raining wandering through Lady Waterford Hall then a luxurious hot chocolate in a cosy tearoom can’t be beaten. Favourite part has to be the Galloway Belties in the Castle Field – these cows are so unique and look fabulous with the castle as a back drop,

So much to do at Ford & Etal estates. First we went on a lovely train ride from Heatherslaw to Etal. Etal was so pretty with a Castle, a thatched roof pub and a lovely place to eat, The Lavender tearooms. The staff are very friendly and the food and drinks are excellent. We then went back on the train and had a wonder round Heatherslaw mill. We have still got to go back to visit Ford village.
