one of the few facilities to have diving boards on offer which all of the kids love, and occasionally someone uses them who is talented and great to watch. I've never seen it over run with teenagers or young children running around. I am a 38 year old father of 2, 8 &12 years old, and both of my kids have a great time every week when we go here, the life guards seem to be perfectly competent watching all the time, and twice my young daughter has been asked to prove she can swim two lengths before they would let her use the diving boards. She is a good swimmer but on both occasions her brother had made it difficult for her to swim so it appeared as though she could not and the guards noticed this , and would not let her back onto the boards until they were happy she could swim, which she proved straight away (with relish). The gents changing area is quite usable, but could maybe use some investment due to its age and obvious well use, but seems to be overall well cared for, and my daughter tells me that the ladies is similar, initially I was not keen to let my daughter go off to change on her own and although I am ok with it now, it would be good if there was a family changing area although i know it's maybe not possible to provide this

Review of Queens Park Sports Centre from 14 September 2012
Visited the Queens Park swimming pool and wouldn't be surprised if I came out with cholera. Changing rooms are filthy whith graffiti all over - my changing curtain fell down half way through changing. Went to the toilet before I went in and the toilet bowl actually moved as it wasn't attached to the floor properly. The toilets absolutely stunk and the floor was wet with god knows what... The pool itself has a massive scum line and the lifeguards spend most of their time standing around talking. Part way through our swim and without any notice (from the website, reception staff or lifeguards) they nearly took everyones heads off dividing the pool in to fast, medium and slow lanes. This was to everyones dismay with some weaker swimmers now having no choice but to swim up and down the whole length of the pool, not to mention haing to duck under the lane ropes to get to the appropriate lane. This meant that after a casual five minutes together my partner and I had to start swimming at opposite ends of the pool alone as he is faster than me and was annoying the other slow people. There was a girl who almost started crying as she only likes to swim widths in the shallow end and was also getting in the way of everyone else in the lane. She got out the pool after about fifteen minutes. 'Lane Swimming' is mentioned nowhere for the time we went. The pool was also freezing, which meant I was almost scalded when stepping in to the ridiculously hot shower afterwards. I then got the pleasure of everyone seeing my naked body (and seeing a few myself) as none of the curtains close properly in the changing rooms.

Three different swimming pools, one for toddlers, one of children, one for adults and teens. The adult one usually is always cold, and always packed, can never get to move around. Lots and lots of teenagers always cram this place up. The swimming pool and changing rooms are not that clean. The changing rooms are just like a curtain you pull across when you are getting changed, not really secure, alot of kids running around opening them up. The toilets are all wet on the floor and are not that clean. The cafe upstairs is better, nice food, nice drinks, reasonable prices. They have rooms for badminton and squash too which are okay, a lot of people can look over though. The outside of Queens Park is terrible. Dog muckings everywhere, teenagers doing drugs and drinking. Not much families walking around any more. I used to go to this place as a child with my mum and dad but not any more, as its been took over by teenagers. Its not that clean anymore either. The only part that is average is the kids park, the cafe near the kids park and the cricket field, as this is the part where the teenagers dont usually tend to hang around. I wouldnt advise going here, there are much better places.
