very unfriendly place to go with children and old people .
63 yr old women in a wheelchair was threatened by ride manager john gill to be forcably removed for protecting grandchild aged 4 from being forcably taken of tiny roundabout for not sitting on the right object .
not recomended place to go .

I visited Flamingo Land with my family, relatively recently and to begin with found it very expensive (even more expensive than the likes of Alton Towers).
I believe Flamingo Land has been around for many years and to be honest this showed. It looked very shabby and not very up to date.
To me the animals didn’t look very happy within their enclosures, and for the likes of rhino’s etc the enclosures seemed too small for them and didn’t offer the stimulation they require.
I went on a few of the rides, but to be honest there wasn’t that many.
For the price they charge it was definitely very overpriced and don’t think I will be making a return trip.

This Theme park and Zoo is located between Malton & Pickering but if you are calling during the holiday season be prepared for traffic queues it took us nearly an hour to get in the car park.
The theme park has the usual rides for Kids ranging from Roller Coasters (several in different types of guises) water rides, to Tea cups, and slides. I would be surprised if your kids get bored.
There also is a zoo there which seems to be well run with large enclosures and walkways to view the animals the variety is very good and makes a change if you want a to get away from the noise of the fun park.
Needless to say its not the cheapest place to get in so would recommend you get there early to get the most out of your day most of the waits for the larger rides was 90-120 mins.

my family and i are just back home after spending a week in falmingo land.
i have visited flamingo land before and do remember it to be better than it is now.
the bullet, magnum force, thunder mountain, the wave and terroriser areno longer there.
the zoo is good but doesn't have as much animals as it did years ago. no polar bears.
the rides are good but not alot for kids, it's ashame they have removed the old rides that i remember.
they should of kept them and just added new ones aswell.

I visited Flamingo Land with a group of friends last summer and had a great time. Like many of the reviewers, I remember going as a child and I was not disappointed. We got the Coastliner bus from Leeds bus station - some of them call at Flamingo Land, which is quite handy - and the bus ticket gets you money off the entrance fee. It is a long bus journey though! There are a mixture of rides: some are really good (Velocity and Kumali were my favourites) and some are a bit tamer - there’s a helter skelter and a carousel amongst others. I felt there were plenty of rides to keep us occupied for the whole day, and the queues weren’t as big as they are at other theme parks.
We did have a look round the zoo and I enjoyed the sea lion show, but the rides were the highlight for me. We made a point of going to see the flamingoes (it is flamingo land after all!)but were overpowered by the smell! However, I did like the cable car which travelled round the park, providing an aerial view of the rides and saving my weary legs! I would definately visit again.

Whilst Blackpool boasts the best rides and attractions, Flamingo Land is still trying to entice visitors with it’s slightly sub-par zoo and less exciting coasters.
The zoo has improved considerably recently, but it’s still not up to the level of a 'proper’ dedicated zoo, both in terms of the range of animals and the interaction / enrichment that some of the animals can enjoy.
The rides don’t really change, which makes repeat visits not really worth it, although occasionally a new coaster will appear (usually at the expense of one of the previous ones).
Unfortuntaly due to it’s 'discount Blackpool’ status, you get lots of undesirables and chavs so expect lots of swearing, spitting and queue jumping…

Flamingo Land is so far in the stone ages when it comes to animal welfare it’s not even funny. There is limited enrichment and exercise opportunities for them. The rides are average and the park itself is over priced for access.

Flamingo land good when it is not raining! I loved going around the animals. Great for kids.

great selection of animals and the rides will keep the kids entertained all day long although quite pricey to get in its just the same as the others its well worth it. My 2 year old (at the time) thought the animals were brilliant and my brothers and partner (late teens and early thirties) had a fantastic time on the rides. Dont forget your sun cream though if visiting in hotter weather as i got a rudolph looking nose to take home with me. And some nice little souvineers of course.

Flamingo land has some great reviews so it is obviously a well liked place. I went first as a child and remember it as a slightly seedy funfair. After a recent visit I’m afraid I hadn’t really changed my mind. The whole concept of the animal as an attraction felt dated, the grounds were very dirty, lots of litter, the food was expensive and not a great deal of choice. Teenagers will love it – older ones best left to visit themselves I think. Have to say the toilets were quite unspeakable!

We had a weekend in Flamingo Land one wet, soggy September.
The place was waterlogged, the weather appalling, the place deserted in the main … and we had a brilliant time!
The staff opened rides just for our wee crew, they were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much bother.
The rides are great, the zoo fun and the food outlets reasonable.
The on site shop was good value and the bar was on a par with Haven.
Impressed - and would return in a heartbeat!

Years ago, my parents used to take my sister and me to Flamingo Land, which was about an hour’s drive from our home in Durham. My mum’s rule, being that she didn’t like rides at theme parks due to a bad back (and partly due to fear, I expect) was “see the animals first then you can go on some rides” so trundle off around the zoo first we did. Back then, there was all sorts of animals to be seen. You’d start off walking through cages of different kinds of birds, then monkeys, then there’d be pens and enclosed spaces with lions, zebras, tigers, giraffes, elephants and other animals, before getting to the polar bears, which were in a big white bath type container. There were penguins and seals and then there was a farm. I remember being astounded that elephants were so large. There was a zookeeper stood next to one once and it looked enormous. I also remember watching baby chickens being born.
Now, the animals seem to have all but disappeared. I went there in May and aside from a few camels and giraffes, baboons and the flamingos themselves, there are very few animals. There was a pen containing two angry tigers, which kept fighting, and it was quite sad to see. There’s a new water ride which enables you to see the camels and giraffes as well as some bright orange birds that I don’t know the name of. The seal show is still on, and the aquarium is interesting. And now they have parrots and a parrot show.
The rides I remember from years ago have all but disappeared, too, other than the monorail and the cycling monorail. I remember a rollercoaster than was in a mountain - thunder mountain perhaps? Now they have a few fun rollercoasters and some other little rides.
They have a couple of interesting water rides and a fun 3D theatre show. There is a wide variety of coffee shops and restaurants, with impressively reasonable prices.
I wonder if the park has always held so little appeal and it’s only now I’ve gotten older that I appreciate that, or if it’s genuinely gone downhill.

Flamingo land park and zoo has been around for quite a number of years, I remember visiting as a child and then again as a teenager and loved it!
My most recent visit was with my daughter so that’s the perspective I’m going to review it from.
We arrived at lunch time and went straight for some lunch. We chose the pub/restaurant near the entrance as we were famished when we arrived! The food took a long time to arrive but it was clear it was freshly cooked and my daughter had chickens nuggets which were scrummy and I shared a sharing 'platter’ with my mum and that too was fantastic.
Then we hit the park, we headed to the train stations, (there’s a little train that you can catch that takes you round the park). and caught the little train to the zoo area. The first animals we saw were the Giraffes and they were wonderful, my daughter was awestruck at being so close to an animal she see’s so frequently on the tv. There were also zebras and ostriches in the same enclosure.
We then had a look through the aquarium which was a little bit of a disappointment - but not to worry, next stop lions. It’s quite hard to see them if you’re going with a child that’s too little to go on the water ride as its from the water ride you get the best view of them. never the less, we climbed the stairs to the viewing area and caught a glimpse of some sleeping lions.
We also saw some hippos which were 'scary’. (daughter says)
Onto some rides, there isn’t an awful lot for tots, but we went on a little tractor ride, a car and a helicopter! my daughter loved each of them and still talks about what a lovely time she had.
I think next time I would go with some more adults so I could have a go on some of the bigger rides.. if I’m brave enough!

An amusement park and zoo in one. The animals were very far away from the viewing areas and paths, some (the lions particularly) could only be viewed from the water ride, meaning those people who dont like water rides miss out on a lot. Plenty for the whole family, at the time we went the queues werent to bad. There could have been more rides for smaller children and the animals could have had more interesting enclosures. Not for the sake of the visitors but for the animals themselves.
Using Tesco vouchers made the entrance fee virtually nothing, but even paying full price it would have been good value for money.

Themepark offering a great selection of rides, suitable for all ages. Also has a zoo, which is great to see.
Shows are shown daily (when open).
Great to go for a day, but also has a caravan/holidy home site allowing people to buy a pass and make the fun last longer.

I think flamingo land was amazing especially the fair, I stayed there for a week and never got bored, well apart from looking at the same people everyday. I loved the velocity and the American bar oh and the shop and the chippy. Flamingo land is so fab it is well better than going abroad. I recomend it to anyone.

My husband and I stayed at Flamingo Land with 4 children in July. It was one of the most relaxing holidays we have had. The kids could come and go as they pleased to the theme park, and we even managed to have our coffee in peace. It was great value for money, and half the price of near by holiday parks. Only drawback was the price of meals, and not much choice. But all in all brilliant holiday

Flamingo land is both a theme park and a rather big zoo. This place is very good for a nice family day out, being able to take the kids on the rides to wondering around the zoo and taking in the seal show. Whilist i would not say the park stands up to the likes of Alton Towers and Chessington, it is just as much fun
