1 review of Abermule Sub Post Office in English
Sub post office and shop. They’ve taken away the security grills, so you can’t tell there is a post office there. If you look under the piles of birthday cards, wrapping paper, boxes of envelopes etc etc you will see there is a woman, tall, thin, blue eye shadow who is wearing a badge & she will sell you stamps!
Do not attempt to make any jokes with this woman, no small talk, try not to over smile as this makes her nervous, If you forgot to do something when you are at the PO counter, don’t go back. Do it tomorrow, post it, whatever, just do it the next day.
The same advice goes for if said same tall, thin lady is serving in the shop.
Great little village shop, fresh bread, a deep freeze worthy of diving into for the frozen pizzas and petite pois. Usual meat chiller cabinet stuff, sausages, bacon, ham, marg, butter, milk, cream etc etc. Usually also a few more butcher items, like super large circle sausages, don’t know what they are called and bacon wrapped meatloaf.
They also have a mini savoury/sweet bakery counter with fresh sausage rolls and cakes. Tuesdays are a good day to get in there for those sausage rolls.
Tall thin ladies husband, older jolly happy smiley man, great conversationalist makes a visit to this little shop well worth while.
Odd Fact: They have a larger selection of cards than Clinton Cards in Newtown & they don’t sell the local newspaper “The County Times”.
New people in there. Had a total refit, longer opening hours, no post office. Mini supermarket. Fresh chelsea buns Tues/Wed, something fresh most days…cakes, sausage rolls etc. Fresh bread most days too. Nice people in there too. When I pass that was, I always pop in for a sausage roll! Great little shop.
