PizzaExpress

This branch is OK – we had a quick pizza pre footie at Chelsea, and it was adequate. I necked the house red (as you do) which is always excellent, and got quite woozy, which was nice, and kept out the cold. Not a great Pizza Express, but not bad.

I found this branch a very hit and miss affair. The service could vary wildly from a warm welcome to the type of "what" "you mean I have to serve you?" brand of hospitality.
This theme extends to the food, ok its a PE so you know what to expect, but that's just it, in this branch, you don't. I ve had some nights where the pizza has been a flaccid under cooked mess of a pizza and others where it's delivered as expected. So my advice, walk west a few hundred feet and go to the Strada.

The quality of the food at Pizza Express is always, in my opinion, above par for what it costs. Decent wine list too, I guess, for the less-than-affluent young professional looking for a nice evening out.

But it's fallen from grace of late. Here (and the one outside Holborn station) seem to have an apathetic approach of waiting your table. The service, frankly, is f**king terrible and I'm being nice. The front of house had a tattoo creeping up his neck, which doesn't bother someone like me but I can imagine some hard up pompus hag being all offended by it. Maybe that's a good thing, who knows.

In all honesty I've wasted enough time and words on this already. Pizza Express is Pizza Express is Pizza Express. You know what to expect, you get it, and it tastes good. The staff are just there to turn tables. Take good company because you wont find it in the person that serves you.

Great pizza. Standard Pizza Express but the location is good for Putney and the restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere.

this is one of the smaller Pizza Express restaurants which gives it a more friendly feel and makes the restaurant feel as though it is less a part of the chain of other Pizza Express reataurants. The pizzas are cooked right in front of you so you can see where your food comes from and how it is prepared and this also provides entertainment for children. there is a lovely garden outside where seating is available although this is not always open and and the seating in the front is usually for smokers so not an option for everybody. overall a child friendly and very decent restaurant.

Great pizza and great atmosphere. Despite being a chain Pizza Express manages to serve good quality food and I’m sure the fact that everything is made from scratch in front of you (the pizzas are anyway!) is part of the reason for this.

The staff here are great and happy to help. We were halfway through a meal when we had to rush off, and they quickly boxed up our meal so we could take it with us.

It has occasionally felt a bit cold inside the restaurant, particularly on quieter nights. Usually though the place is quite full and the atmosphere is excellent.

The Pizza Express in Putney has a great atmosphere. It is never really over-crowded so you dont feel rushed or hurried in any way. The view out the window (of the main road) isnt too intriguing but there is always the chefs to watch on the other side of the room. The food comes very quickly and tastes delicious. The staff are also very helpful and accomadating!
